Dodge Releases 2019 Charger & Challenger SRT Hellcat Teaser Photos

If there is one thing Dodge is good at, its releasing teasers. When the Hellcat rumors first started circling around back in 2014, Dodge started releasing teaser pictures such as a radio screen showing “Sirius 70’s on 7” before they released the actual 707 horsepower number. When the 2018 Challenger SRT Demon was announced, Dodge shared a different video every week for twelve weeks hinting at features leading right up to the Demon’s official release. In true Dodge fashion, they have just released a couple teaser photos hinting at various styling upgrades for both the 2019 Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcat models and also hint that further information will be released this summer.

Up first is the Charger. According to Dodge, they are doubling down with upgrades inside and out for the 2019 model year. Among the changes, high-performance Charger models such as the Hellcat get an all-new grille design, which extends the sinister-looking front end to accentuate visual width and reflects the standout exterior design that Charger customers and fans alike have come to expect. If you look closely, the grille features air grabber ducting like that found on the high-performance Challenger models.

Next is the Challenger. Dodge has shared that they are again reaching back to their history as they evolve the Challenger lineup for 2019. One of the features for the new model year is a new dual-snorkel hood on Hellcat models that Dodge states “pays homage to the distinctive Mopar design themes from some of its most famous muscle cars”. This new fully functional hood design supposedly goes back to the mid-’60s and early-’70s designs, but with a modern interpretation that looks even more sinister and provides maximum air intake to the supercharged engine. From what we’ve seen though, we aren’t fans. While Dodge states it pays homage to their classic muscle cars, all we see is a cross between a ’69 Olds Hurst 442 and a ’99 Pontiac Trans Am WS6. We honestly see nothing Mopar about it. Let us know your opinion on it.

On Christmas of 1998, Cody's parents gave him a rusty '69 Charger shell that his father saved from a field. Cody's garage still features that '69 Charger as well as the additions of a '71 Charger R/T, '71 Super Bee, '73 Duster, '08 Challenger SRT8 and a '13 Ram 3500. Cody can truly and proudly say that he is a true Mopar nut in love with all types of Mopars!
