As we finish up on our feature article documenting the conversion of our ongoing “Brazen” ’69 Dodge Charger street machine project from a carburetor to FAST EZ-EFI 2.0, we wanted to share the news that FAST (Fuel Air Spark Technology) has opened its doors to facilitate a full calendar’s worth of hands-on training sessions and live demonstrations of “EFI theories and concepts,” as COMP announced recently.

Whether you’re just an enthusiast, a professional engine builder or a top-tier engine tuner, these seminars are open to you. Held at the COMP Performance Group headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee, on Thursdays and Fridays, these classes will include a review of basic EFI terms, components and a “simple explanation of how EFI works” and some key “dos and don’ts” of proper EFI installation, and will only go deeper from there.

Here’s the original press release and calendar dates:
Following a successful first season, in 2016 FAST will bring back its popular training program for enthusiasts interested in making the switch to electronic fuel injection or wanting to get the most out of their EFI system.

Thanks to overwhelmingly positive response to the initial Intro to FAST EFI classes, a new facility dedicated to Training and Education on Electronic Fuel Injection Systems has been set up at the COMP Performance Group headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee. The 2,800-square-foot facility offers a professional training environment that includes both a classroom setting and live engines for hands-on training and live demonstrations of EFI theories and concepts.

During the 2016 calendar year FAST is scheduled to host six two-day events at its Memphis Training Center where attendees can learn about the brand’s fuel injection products and gain some valuable hands-on experience. Scheduled for Thursdays and Fridays in May, June, August, September, November and December, the programs are entitled “Intro to FAST Fuel Injection Systems.” An introduction to the self-tuning FAST EZ-EFI will be presented on Thursday, while the more advanced XFI is reserved for Friday.

The EZ-EFI class will cover basic EFI terms, EFI components, a simple explanation of how electronic fuel injection works and the dos and don’ts of installation. The day will finish with a live demonstration of an EZ-EFI system on an engine, where students will get the opportunity to set up the components, crank the engine and perform troubleshooting exercises. The Intro to FAST XFI unit the following day picks up where the first day concludes. Unit two covers best installation practices, initial setup of the system and a detailed hands-on workshop covering the parts of the tuning process that present the biggest challenges to a novice EFI tuner.

Attendees can register for either day or sign up for both classes for savings. Registration costs $75 for Intro to EZ-EFI, while Intro to XFI is $100. The cost for both programs is $150. All registered participants will receive double their registration fee back towards any FAST EZ-EFI kit or XFI system purchased within 12 months of their course date. Classes will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will wrap up around 5:00 p.m. Deli lunch will be provided. For more information and to register, call Tammy Holland at 901-375-3451.
