Holy Holley acquisition, Batman! Possibly one of the biggest mergers in the automotive aftermarket happened this week and we thought we’d let you know. Holley Performance Products (who already owns and operates Weiand, NOS, Hooker, Flowtech, and Earl’s) just picked up the El Paso, Texas–based MSD Group, which includes Mr. Gasket, Accel, Superchips, Edge, Racepak, Mallory, Hays, QuickTime, and Lakewood.

This undoubtedly elevates Holley’s catalog of top-shelf performance parts and makes them (all the more of) a go-to source for your project car. Now, as Hot Rod Magazine stated, “Holley will now carry a part number under its umbrella for every single component needed to complete a running engine, be it EFI or carburetion. Notable products that Holley acquires in the process are EFI tuners Superchips and Edge, along with the data-logging and digital gauge pack systems offered by Racepak.

“MSD’s competing Atomic EFI lineup is another interesting acquisition, as Holley currently offers a fully developed selection of EFI systems—from weekend-warrior two-barrel throttle-body-injected conversions to complete motorsports-capable engine management systems.”

Here’s the original press release:

Holley Performance Products is pleased to announce the acquisition of the El Paso, TX based MSD Group. The MSD Group includes iconic brands such as MSD, Mr. Gasket, Accel, Superchips, Edge, Racepak, Mallory, Hays, QuickTime and Lakewood. “We are excited to have the opportunity to combine the awesome legacies of these companies. The combination of these brands will provide our customers with the most complete offering of performance products in the industry,” said Holley President & CEO, Tom Tomlinson. “We are aggressively developing innovative new products at Holley and we’re going to continue to build upon the fine job the MSD Group is already doing with new products.”

Holley is a leader in the performance automotive aftermarket with products powering race cars and high-performance vehicles found the world over.

“Our goal is to offer solutions to automotive enthusiasts so they can achieve their goals in the pursuit of their automotive passions. We look forward to working with the MSD Group team including Russell Stephens at MSD, Dave Martinez at Powerteq, and Tim Anderson at Racepak to marry our technologies and talents to build these solutions,” said Tomlinson.
