With only days left before the annual SEMA event, Vintage Air just rolled out another awesome modern air conditioning system for classic Mopars: this time it’s for the AMC-era 1967-into-the-Chrysler acquisition-1991 Wagoneers and Cherokees. That’s right, Jeep was snatched up in the late 1980’s by Chrysler, making these two vehicles both AMCs and Chryslers. Nevertheless, Vintage Air saw how popular these are getting and jumped on the train to get them a modern A/C system.

All-new Gen 5 SureFit Kit for 1967-91 Jeep Wagoneer/Cherokee models equipped with or without factory A/C. Built around Vintage Air’s most advanced climate-control technology to date, this new SureFit system brings powerful, modern comfort to one of America’s most iconic full-size SUVs.
At the heart of the system is the Gen 5 Max evaporator module, engineered with separate high-capacity A/C and heater coils and an electronic blend-air door to deliver rapid and precise vent temperature control. Whether crawling through traffic or exploring backcountry trails, Jeep Wagoneer owners can enjoy year-round comfort with fast response and OEM-quality reliability.
The kit includes a range of premium components, such as a block-type expansion valve, electronically controlled blend air doors with integral rubber seals and an injection-molded case for added durability and fitment precision. Removable access covers allow easier coil servicing, simplifying maintenance for owners and installers.
Designed with ease of installation in mind, the Wagoneer Gen 5 SureFit Kit features vehicle-specific mounting brackets with rubber well-nut isolated mounting points for reduced noise, vibration and harshness (NVH). It also includes a powder-coated steel firewall block-off plate, pre-crimped reduced barrier refrigerant hoses and a bolt-in parallel flow condenser assembly.
The 1967-85 kits feature an under-dash vent panel with integral controls and louvers that mimic the OEM Jeep appearance, while the 1986-91 kits utilize an in-dash, bolt-in electronic control panel in conjunction with an under-dash louver panel. As with all SureFit kits, upgrade control and louver options are available.
