There’s no brand in the performance Mopar aftermarket pursuing absolute mastery of the third generation HEMI as Blackbird Performance. Releasing a seeming avalanche of bolt-on and full-tilt custom-build engine components, Blackbird Performance (BPE) is pushing what can be done with the newest elephant engine further than possibly Mopar itself.
If that statement feels a little out of line, take a breath because Mopar has just licensed a whole smattering of BPE products and slated these to be sold through its own Direct Connection catalog. This partnership comes after BPE’s own 50-year relationship with racing, building and participating with Mopar/Direct Connection in a variety of capacities.
The current list of offerings include BPE’s billet and cast valve covers with either the Direct Connection or HEMI logo; a Direct Connection supercharger belt tensioner; Direct Connection billet Hellcat fuel rails and their front engine covers, available as either a Direct Connection race/engine swap, billet blower, billet NA/turbo or cast NA/turbo.
BPE’s boss, Geoff Turk spoke with MCM stating, “It’s a dream come true for a near-50 year Mopar racing veteran to make parts now offered as Direct Connection parts, and hopefully, reach even more folks, making their G3 Hemi-powered dreams come true.”
Turk continued, “And, if like us, your Mopar roots go all the way back to the early days of DC, then as you pursue your next G3 Hemi-powered chapter, you can use these parts to clearly tie it back and into those roots.” All of these will be found on Direct Connection’s online catalog as well as via Blackbird Performance’s website.
