A G3 Hemi of any sort is a fine piece of automotive engineering in factory-built form. However, once the aftermarket modifications start to roll in, a few features can stand to become obsolete. In some of those cases, it’s necessary to delete the functions entirely and Blackbird Performance has the pieces to do it correctly.
One example would be an internal oil pump engine supply block-off. For those running an external oil pump, the OEM pump’s passage needs plugged so it doesn’t “leak” internally and starve flow to the rest of the components. Blackbird’s offering (P/N BBP-014-A) is an O-ringed billet plug that simply bolts into place for an effective yet non-permanent solution.
Another case for corking something off would be the oil squirters which sometimes need to be removed for aftermarket rotating assemblies. Some also decide to ditch them to get rid of the extra oil and, therefore, extra mass on the pistons. Whatever the reason, Blackbird has a set of plugs available (P/N BBP-025).
Most common might be the VVT solenoid plug (P/N BBP-021) which deletes the factory solenoid under the intake manifold on the upper front portion of the block. This is a perfect pairing to the VVT delete timing set (P/N BBP-007-FK) for anyone running a Blackbird Mach series camshaft.
