If you caught Mopar Connection Magazine’s most recent video on our 535ci stroker wedge that we flogged on the dyno (despite racking up nearly 10,000 miles on it), you’ll know that we plumb ran out of cylinder head. Despite having the necessary volume (at least on paper) we couldn’t move the air fast enough through the port before the valve slammed shut.
And if you peeked into the comments section, you would’ve seen much of the same conclusion: You guys need a set of those big Trick Flow heads! We had the pleasure of getting our hands on Trick Flow’s 240cfm PowerPort cylinder heads a few years ago, but the most recent 295cfm borrow heavily from Max Wedge-style cylinder heads with a few tricks.
Unlike other Max Wedge-inspired heads, Trick Flow’s 295 PowerPorts allow you to run factory-type valvetrain and even keep your current intake manifold and headers (although you’ll want to double check your clearance around the torsion bars). Fitted with monster-sized 2.250-inch Manley intake valves and CNC-ported, this heads get the job done.
Here’s the original press release from Summit Racing Equipment:
Trick Flow PowerPort® 295 Cylinder Heads deliver the airflow, strength, and performance potential to help your big-inch, big block Mopar race into the winner’s circle.
The PowerPort® 295 Cylinder Heads represent the peak of Trick Flow’s Max Wedge-style cylinder head development. Designed around factory-type valvetrain geometry, they have features that make them worlds better than the best OEM and other aftermarket heads. They are cast in A356-T61 aluminum to significantly reduce the weight and boost their strength over factory cast iron heads. The rocker shaft and runner areas have been reinforced to handle the abuse of high-RPM racing, and the rocker shaft oil passages were relocated to improve oiling and keep the valvetrain fully lubricated and happy.
PowerPort® 295 heads don’t just move air, they gulp it. Raised Max Wedge-style intake runners minimize restriction and maximize cylinder filling and airflow by providing a straight, unobstructed path to the huge 2.250-inch Manley Severe Duty intake valves. Trick Flow’s signature high-resolution CNC Competition Ported surface finish guarantees proper dimensional accuracy with balanced flow from runner-to-runner for maximum power potential.

Trick Flow designed the PowerPort® 295 Cylinder Heads to work with all factory-style big block Mopar pistons, roller rocker arms, and headers. The heads work best on large bore, high compression engines running solid roller camshafts up to .700 inches of valve lift. Pair them with a Trick Flow R-Series Intake Manifold to create a combination that’s ready to chase ETs, trophies, and bragging rights. The heads are available fully assembled or as bare castings and are sold individually.
