Blackbird Performance is Going Dirt Trackin’ With a G3 Hemi

Is there anything the Gen 3 (G3) Hemi platform can’t do? We’ve seen mild 5.7L builds pull 450 horsepower and 20 miles per gallon in daily drivers. There are built 6.4L engines easily hitting low-6s in the eighth-mile. Stock 6.4L powerplants in Ram trucks do all kinds of literal heavy lifting.

And then there are the many G3 Hemi precision power packages and parts from Blackbird Performance Products. Clearly well-suited for the drag strip or muscle car swap, it turns out their offerings are good for one other thing too: circle track racing.

A partnership was just announced with Briggs Racing and we can’t wait to see this thing sling some dirt with it’s 6.4L-based brawler. Here’s the official word from the crew at Blackbird:

We are so excited to announce we are going CIRCLE TRACK, LATE MODEL RACING!!! With Blackbird Performance G3 Hemi power!!!

We are so very blessed to have connected with John Briggs, and his hard at it, Mopar race family, at Briggs Racing. They have never given up on Mopar power to compete, and along with us, are thrilled to be working together to bring G3 Hemi power to those with circle track racing dreams.

They have stayed a top notch competitive team in the 4 State Late Model series using Mopar SBM as a base in their home state of Arkansas and on tracks in the neighboring Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. We can’t wait to see what the cars can do with G3 Hemi power.

We have two starter builds going so that we can test various combinations, compare cost and performance.

The new Kevko G3 Hemi oil pan fit very nicely and looks right at home on this 6.4L and with the fantastic foundation of G3 Hemi parts like the Callies lightweight and very high strength aluminum block, Blackbird cylinder heads, valve train, manifolds, simple / robust ignition control, etc, we think we have a pretty good shot of developing and offering a highly cost effective and competitive power option to our circle track friends.

If they are Mopar lovers, and felt they had no choice but to run tried and true SBC and SBF combinations, you know we are here to give them a strong, reliable and high bang for the buck Mopar Hemi option.

We have to get back at it, as there is just a whole lot more of the world, to G3 Hemi.
