Gallery: Introducing the 777-Horsepower 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX

The Mopar community has been vocal about the lack of Hemi engines in the truck lineup, but Tim Kuniskis is working on fixing that error in judgment by European leadership. First, he quickly got the 5.7-liter Hemi back in the Ram 1500 lineup and on New Years’ Day of 2026, he introduced the return of the mighty Ram 1500 TRX. The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX is the first official product from the reincarnated SRT group within the company and they made sure that their first vehicle made a big splash in the industry – reclaiming the title of the “World’s Most Powerful Gas Truck” with 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque.

In the few years in which the TRX model did not exist, the premium performance model was the Ram 1500 RHO. The RHO was an evolution of the TRX, featuring upgraded suspension components while power was provided by the twin turbocharged Hurricane I6, with 540 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque making the model plenty of fun to drive on- and off-road. The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX builds on the chassis and suspension components of the RHO, but it adds the output of the supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8.

“We started 2025 with a simple rallying cry—three words and three letters: The Last Tenth and LFG. Our first moves were clear: revive the legendary HEMI V-8 and reignite the SRT Performance Division. So, would anyone really bet against TRX making a comeback?” said Kuniskis. “But bringing back the nameplate isn’t enough. Ram set the bar five years ago with 702 horsepower, and that benchmark has been challenged. SRT doesn’t limbo; we high-jump—and 721 wasn’t going to cut it. 777 horsepower? That’s the mark. And it represents more than power—it signals an awakening and a new path forward.”

When some people hear that the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX has 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque, they are quick to assume that the engine is similar to the one in the SRT Hellcat Redeye models, but that is not the case. The new SRT TRX still utilizes the IHI 2.4-liter supercharger, making this new pickup the most powerful application of the 6.2/2.4 engine combination thus far. Helping to achieve these lofty power numbers is a new dual path induction system that draws air through the grille and through the hood scoop, providing as much cool air as possible to the supercharger.

All of that power is channeled towards the road along with 680 lb-ft of torque by means of the TorqueFlite 8HP95 8-speed transmission, a Borg Warner 48-13 full-time active transfer case, a Dana 60 rear axle with full floating axle shafts and an electronic locking differential and 18-inch wheels wrapped in off-road tires. Like the RHO, the new SRT TRX features the five-link coil suspension with second-generation Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks and the Ram Active Terrain Dynamics suspension management system.

When the truck can get good traction on pavement, the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX will rip from a stop to 60 miles per hour in just 3.5 seconds – a second quicker than the previous TRX. Due to federal regulations about tire ratings, the SRT TRX has an electronically restricted top speed of 118 miles per hour, but it will get to that number faster than any gas-powered truck ever. Even though this is a purpose-built off-road truck, it will still beat every factory street truck ever offered by any manufacturer.

The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX will beat any stock gas-powered truck in a drag race, but it will also beat any stock truck in a race around a tough off-road course. The new TRX has 11.8 inches of ground clearance, an approach angle of 31 degrees, a departure angle of 25.2 degrees, breakover angles of 21.8 degrees without the available factory skid plate and 16.8 degrees with skid plate, so it will climb over obstacles as easily as any other factory pickup while getting from obstacle to obstacle with more urgency than any other truck at the ORV park.

The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX is expected to begin hitting dealerships in the second half of 2026 and when it arrives, it will carry a starting MSRP of $99,995, which does not include the $2,595 destination fee. That is a premium price, so it should come as little surprise that the SRT TRX comes packed full of premium features that create the interior feel of a luxury vehicle.

This includes leather-and-suede-wrapped heated and cooled front seats with 12-way power adjustment, heated rear outboard seating positions, a 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 reconfigurable touchscreen, a 12.3-inch reconfigurable digital gauge cluster, the slick 360-degree camera system, a full-color 10-inch Head Up Display, a 900-watt Harman Kardon audio system and a healthy dose of leather and carbon fiber trim throughout the cabin. The new TRX joins the RHO as being the only performance trucks on sale today with Hands-free Active Driving Assist with Level 2+ automated driving capabilities.

Throughout the life of the TRX name, there have been an array of special edition packages that were predominantly appearance upgrades, so it comes as little surprise that the introduction of the second generation TRX with 777 horsepower gets a commemorate package of its own. The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX Bloodshot Night Edition celebrates the return of the supercharged half-ton with all of the standard features of the SRT TRX, but with a unique look inside and out.

On the outside, the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX Bloodshot Night Edition features a unique hand-painted two-tone design with Diamond Black Crystal Pearl Coat and Flame Red with the unique bodyside mud splash graphics, red outlined badges and Satin Black beadlock-capable wheels with a Satin Titanium beadlock ring.

On the inside, the SRT TRX Bloodshot Night Edition has red badges on the dashboard and seats, a glass-encased TRX center console badge, carbon fiber trim with red anodized threads in the weave pattern and red trim on the seats, dashboard, door panels and even in the Harman Kardon door speakers. The company has not announced pricing for the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX Bloodshot Night Edition, but we can expect that it is on the upper end of the TRX pricing range.
