Get Your Flaming River VDOG At Summit Racing

The Flaming River VDOG has been available for a few years, but many enthusiasts are still just learning about it. It makes easy work of routing your steering in many different applications.

We all get wild ideas about wanting to swap this  big block Mopar in that car, tuck or van, but then some of the logistics like steering shaft clearances make it more of dream. That is where Flaming River’s VDOG can help make easy work of routing the steering in almost any application.

Some of you might say well I could just use a couple extra u-joints and be just fine. The problem then is using too many u-joints or having too much of an angle could cause clunky steering feel. The design of the VDOG keeps that smooth steering feel at a higher angle than u-joints.

The Flaming River VDOG steering box eliminates a lot of those hassles. The gear-driven box has 3/4-36 splined output shafts that sit 90 degrees to each other, providing maximum clearance. The output shaft to your steering box or rack and pinion rides in an articulating ball—you can set the shaft at any angle up to 35° to clear whatever’s in the way.

The Flaming River VDOG steering boxs set at a 1:1 ratio so it won’t affect your steering ratio and it can be mounted vertically or horizontally. The cast aluminum box is available with a natural, black, or blue powdercoat finish, or you can get fancy and get one in billet aluminum. A Flaming River pillow block mount is highly recommended for use with the VDOG box.

The best part is you can purchase a VDOG directly from Summit Racing when your ordering that long list of parts for your project. One thing we hate is making multiple orders from different retailers. Summit Racings catalog houses the best brands and a ton of products. Its seldom that we cannot find what we need at Summit Racing.
