Holley’s MoParty is an exciting event that brings Mopar enthusiasts from all over to celebrate the power and performance of MoPowered™ vehicles. This three-day extravaganza features a wide range of activities and competitions that showcase the skills and abilities of drivers and their vehicles.
One of the most prestigious titles at the MoParty is the Grand Champion. We have sponsored the Grand Champion award since the very first MoParty. This title is awarded to the driver or participant who can excel in multiple events and demonstrate exceptional performance across the board.
To qualify for the Holley MoParty Grand Champion Award, participants must compete in all segments of the event, including the drag race, autocross, and 3S challenge.
The MoParty Grand Champion competition is divided into three classes: Late Model, Vintage, and Truck. The Late Model class includes all cars from 1990 and newer model years. The Vintage class includes cars from 1989 or older model years. The Truck class is open to all trucks, regardless of the year of manufacture.
Each class offers a cash prize of $1,000, along with a plaque and jacket for the winner. It’s important to note that the event organizers reserve the right to change the rules and class descriptions to ensure fair and safe competition.
In addition to the Grand Champion title, one vehicle from the MoParty will receive an automatic invitation to compete in the prestigious Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational. This invitation-only event brings together the best street-legal performance vehicles from across the country for a thrilling competition.
The Grand Champion and Autocross are limited to the first 125 vehicles. To ensure fair competition and the safety of all participants, MoParty has established a set of rules that must be followed during the Grand Champion competition. Let’s take a closer look at these rules:
- Driver Requirements: Each competitor must have a current driver’s license and sign a liability waiver. Passengers must be at least 18 years old and must also sign a liability waiver.
- Vehicle Eligibility: Only one driver per entered vehicle is allowed to compete in any segment of the event. Multiple driver entries or sharing a vehicle is not permitted.
- Tire Regulations: Participants must use DOT-approved street tires with a minimum treadwear rating of 200. Any modifications to tires, including shaving, are not allowed. Competitors must use a single set of tires for the entire event, and tire changes are only permitted in the event of a catastrophic failure.
- Safety Requirements: All participating vehicles must pass a basic safety inspection, which includes functional seatbelts, proper brake pedal pressure, secured battery, and more. Convertibles and roadsters must have rollover protection for the drag race portion of the challenge.
- Helmet Use: Helmet use is mandatory during all non-highway segments of the competition. Approved automotive-style helmets with a Snell foundation sticker of SA2015 or later are required.
- Vehicle Numbering: Each entrant will be issued a number, which must be clearly visible on the windshield, side windows, or rear window of the vehicle.
- Event Timing: Each segment of the event will be timed to 0.00.00. The competitor with the most combined points is declared the winner. In the event of a tie, the fastest autocross time will determine the winner.
- Race Director’s Discretion: The race director and event management staff have the authority to deny or remove any participant from the competition for any reason deemed necessary. Their decisions are final.
