Tim Johnpress is creating the Charger of his dreams; one that Dodge didn’t actually build in the first place. Starting with a rough and hacked together 1969 Charger R/T, Tim is working hard at building it into a convertible version. Yes, you read that right; a Charger convertible. While there are a few that have been built, many aren’t willing to take on the big task of building one.
Tim is taking his Charger and combining it together with parts pillaged from a 1969 Sport Satellite convertible donor to create his dream car. The skill and talent going into the metal work and fabrication on this build is truly stunning. We’ve been told Tim is doing the necessary steps to convert the Charger into a 1968 on the exterior.
Under the hood, he will be running a modern 6.4L SRT Hemi engine backed by a SST (Silver Sport Transmissions) PerfectFit kit (including a modified Tremec Magnum 6-speed manual transmission). SST is very pleased to be Tim’s choice go to place for the Tremec he needs for his build. The PerfectFit 6-speed combined with the SRT 6.4L Hemi will be an absolute stellar power plant and will be sure to please as Tim cruises around with the top down!
We can’t wait to see Tim’s Charger convertible come together and see the road. This is one build we’ll be watching closely!
