Summit’s Got All You Need to Build a 426cu G3 Hemi Using a SCAT Rotating Assembly

Just because Ma’ Mopar never did its fandom right by giving us a modern 426-cubic-inch, naturally-aspirated G3 Hemi doesn’t mean you can’t build your own! Summit Racing just announced that you can build your very own 426 using a SCAT Modern Muscle Rotating Assembly.

These complete packages take all of the guesswork out of blueprinting a 6.4L Hemi into a rip-snortin’ 7-liter with minimal effort. Of course, SCAT is renowned for its performance performance crankshafts and forged H-beam connecting rods, and a set of forged 9.5:1 dished pistons (ideal for use with a 69cc cylinder head).

With aftermarket engine blocks available though Callies and Dart, or the growing number of junkyard 392s, building your very own 426 is now closer to a reality than ever before.

Here’s the original press release:

Mention the numbers 4-2-6 to a Mopar fan and watch them bow with reverence. They refer to the famous 426 cubic inch Gen II Hemi that ruled the streets and race tracks back in the 1960s and ‘70s.

If you’re a fan of Gen III Hemis, you too can build 426 cubic inches of Mopar muscle—just grab a 6.4L Hemi block and this SCAT Modern Muscle Rotating Assembly. The SCAT assembly is fully balanced and will build 9.5:1 compression engine when using cylinder heads with 69cc combustion chambers. Boost, anyone?

The Modern Muscle Rotating Assembly includes these components:

  • 4.050-inch stroke, CNC-machined 4340 forged steel crankshaft
  • 6.125-inch 4340 forged H-beam connecting rods
  • Forged aluminum dished pistons with two valve reliefs
    • Piston ring set
    • Main and rod bearings
