Boy, if you haven’t been paying attention lately, Year One Muscle Cars is absolutely cranking out new hard-to-find emblems and badges for a variety of different Mopars.
Filling in the gaps in their catalog is difficult work, especially when it comes to finding original examples to scan and cast molds from but Year One is hot on the trail to better serve the Mopar community.
Recently, they just announced their new adhesive-backed “DODGE” hood emblem set for 1970, ’72-through-’74 Challengers (PT# VC742T). Believe it or not, these also fit all 2008–2010 “Classic Edition” Challengers as well.
Now obviously, not all Dodge E-bodies came with these emblems. Rather, these reproduction hood letters are for Dual Scoop Rallye Hoods. They were not used on Standard or Shaker hoods.
As a bit of added information, Year One noted, “On 1970-1974 models the letter spacing is approximately 3.5 inches center to center on each letter. The “D” was dead center and all other letters were spaced 3.5 inches from the center of the D out each side.”
Equally, they state, “On late model Challengers as seen in the picture center to center is 2-5/8″ with the D in center and spaced from there out each side.”
This is a nice bit of added information that’ll be helpful for those looking to get proper installation instructions, whether for a vintage E-body or a modern LX-based Challenger.
