On the eve of Roadkill Nights 2026, the 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee was introduced to the world as the quickest, fastest and most powerful car to ever wear the Super Bee name. It has 600 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to sprint from a stop to 60 in just 3.6 seconds en route to an 11.8 quarter mile time, but it isn’t just a drag car. It comes with massive 16-inch Brembo brakes, adaptive damping suspension, an advanced all-wheel-drive system and exterior upgrades that improve engine cooling and aerodynamics.
“The Super Bee name has always stood for maximum Dodge attitude: bold, accessible performance with the hardware to back it up,” said Matt McAlear, Dodge CEO.

“With the new 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee Launch Edition, we’re not just bringing back a legendary badge, we’re honoring that legacy by outperforming every vehicle that’s adorned the Super Bee badge since 1968; 600 horsepower, bigger turbos, massive Brembo brakes, serious cooling, functional aero, and dedicated track and drag technology make this the quickest, fastest and most powerful Super Bee ever, and a clear signal that Dodge performance is only getting louder, faster and more relentless.”
It isn’t just the quickest, fastest and most powerful Super Bee ever, it is the best all-around performing Super Bee in stock form that has ever been offered. Here is a closer look at how Dodge improved the performance of the new Charger in going from the Scat Pack to the Super Bee.

The Most Powerful Hurricane Engine Yet
The key aspect of the 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee is the 3.0-liter Hurricane I6 engine, which delivers 600 horsepower and 531 lb-ft of torque. That is 50 more horsepower than the Scat Pack, and while the torque output is the same, the torque curve is much flatter, offering peak output from 3,000 to almost 6,000 rpm. This improvement in horsepower was achieved by installing larger Garrett 55-millimeter turbochargers, improving the engine cooling and retuning the engine to reach the new output.
In terms of the cooling system, the new Super Bee features revisions to the heat exchangers, radiators, intercoolers, oil coolers, fans, airflow ducting and underbody airflow path to provide the best cooling to all of the drivetrain components – not just the engine. Even the differential, transmission and braking systems received attention in the way of improved cooling through new air flow channels.
The power from this new version of the Hurricane engine is sent through an 8-speed automatic transmission and the advanced all-wheel-drive system to 20×11-inch wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 305/35ZR20 rubber. Helping to get power to the ground safely and consistently, the team added half-shafts that are 10% stronger than those in the Scat Pack models.

Far More than Just Extra Horsepower
The 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee is the most powerful Hurricane-motivated vehicle to come to production thus far, but as mentioned at the top of the piece, this package is not just 50 extra horsepower. Although the company teaser video hinted to a drag racing-focused model, the new Super Bee is actually a balanced performance car.
The braking package of the 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee includes 16-inch rotors in the front and rear, with six-piston front calipers and four-piston rear calipers holding brake pads that offer a 27% larger contact surface than the Scat Pack brakes. The added dimensions lead to better braking force with three times the brake fade resistance of previous modern Charger braking systems.

Next, the 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee features Continuous Damping Control (CDC) dual-valve adaptive dampers, making this the first of the modern gas-powered Chargers to get an adaptive suspension system. This system yields better handling without compromising ride quality. These dampers are paired with front springs that are 12% stiffer, rear springs that are 6% stiffer, a rear stabilizer bar that is 20% stiffer and bushings that vary from 25-50% stiffer. This all translates to a Charger that handles better in every situation.
Best of all, while the Charger Super Bee is an all-wheel-drive model, it has a rear-drive mode that can quickly be activated with a button the steering wheel, unlocking the ability to do monster burnouts.

Lots of Track Technology
The previous Dodge Charger models from this new generation all have drive modes, but he 2027 Super Bee gains two that the Scat Pack does not offer – Track and Drag. Track Mode puts the dampers to their stiffest points, tightens the steering, lifts the shift points, sharpens the throttle response and makes changes to the Stability and Traction control systems to yield the best performance on a curvy track.
Drag Mode makes similar adjustments, but the focus of this mode is to yield the best straight line performance possible, to the dampers allowed lots of weight transfer to the rear wheels and while the gadgets pull as little power as possible while still keeping the tires from roasting.

Next, the new Super Bee features Torque Reserve, Race Prep, Line Lock and a Drive Experience Recorder. Torque Reserve allows you to build boost and power output prior to a hard launch on the drag strip while Line Lock makes it easy to heat up the rear tires for a hard pull.
Race Prep keeps the cooling systems running after the car has been shut down, following a track session, helping to bring temperatures down before the next run. The Drive Experience Recorder includes a forward-facing camera, an integrated microphone and the vehicle’s screens to record track sessions, complete with vehicle information and timers.

A Unique Look
The 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee comes with some unique graphics and badges, but more importantly, it has an all-new front fascia that has larger openings and a redesign that improves aerodynamics and sends more air through the different cooling channels across the front end. This new fascia is all about function, but it looks better than the face of the Scat Pack models as well. When combined with the distinct graphics on the sides of the car and the unique exterior colors – including the bright yellow-green called Sucker Punch – the new Super Bee stands out in a crowd of the modern Chargers.
The interior even got some love as part of the Launch Edition package, with the first use of cloth high-back performance seats, with Citrus Peel colored inserts and a new Super Bee logo embroidered on the headrest, this is the most striking interior layout we have seen on a new Dodge Charger as well. Of course, this package comes with premium infotainment tech and steering wheel that features the flat top and bottom, with a yellow reference stripe at the top-center of the wheel.

Many People Just Plain Hate the Hurricane
All of that information sounds great, but the 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee has debuted with very mixed emotions, due to the number of cylinders. Many people wanted the new Super Bee to be powered by a Hemi. Some social media voices were even claiming that it would have an all-new Hemi V8, but it is powered by the 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged Hurricane I6.
For many people in the community who, like this author, who have owned scores of 4- and 6-cylinder-powered Mopars, this is not a huge disappointment, as the new Super Bee offers impressive performance in every category, but for many people in the community, all they see is “not a Hemi”. They don’t care how well it accelerates or handles or anything else – they are mad that it is not a Hemi and at this point, literally nothing else matters.
All of that aside, the Dodge Charger Super Bee is back with 600 horsepower and the ability to carve up a road course like no other car in the lineup today. We don’t know how much it will cost, as we will get that information closer to the cars going on sale, but we can expect that it will start north of the Scat Pack, which starts in the $57k range. That would leave us to expect that the Super Bee will start somewhere in the low-$60k range.
