eBay Find of The Day: 1977 Plymouth Fury Taxi Cab With 7 Original Miles

The Mopar community has always been known for unique and rare cars. We here at Mopar Connection especially like weird and wacky Mopars. A car that just popped up on eBay suits that bill perfectly! It’s a 1977 Plymouth Fury that was special ordered from the factory as a taxi cab. What makes this particular one special is it has 7 original miles! Yes, 7 miles.

According to the eBay ad, it was purchased new by a cab company in New York and never put into service. Instead, it sat in the back corner of a warehouse and was used as a storage shelf and parts car for the rest of the fleet. The Fury still retains the original Certificate of Origin and was never titled! To make things even cooler, the original window sticker is still on it and the current owner found 3 build sheets for it.

Under the hood is a run of the mill 225 Slant 6; pretty common for service cars of that era. Everything works as it should and is completely original to the car, with the exception of the gas tank and tires. The interior is perfect and still looks assembly line fresh! Unfortunately, it does have a pretty bad spot of rust on it. The cab company’s storage building must have had a bad roof that leaked onto the car for a number of years. Over the years, the dripping water onto that one spot rusted through.

As mentioned, the Fury was used as a parts car for other cabs back in the day however the owner has been able to locate almost everything that was missing and has replaced them with NOS parts such as the grille, mirror and tail lenses. What would you with a car like this? Do you try to repair the rust and blend that spot or would you repaint a 40 year old car with 7 miles? Do you leave it just like it is?
