Dixie Restorations’ Expertise is Much More Than Just Alternators

For those bringing a classic Mopar muscle car back from the brink or just elevating their restoration up to from-the-factory condition, you’ll already know that Paul Jacobs and the team at Dixie Restorations are some of the hobby’s very best at restoring your car’s starters and alternators.

Not only will they work like new but each component will look exactly as it did the day it rolled off of the assembly line. And Paul’s work isn’t just found on his customers’ cars across the globe; the quality of his expertise is found on his own show-stopping, award winning restorations.

But did you know that Dixie Restorations offers restoration services beyond what’s listed on their website? Just a quick cruise through their Facebook page (which we strongly recommend following) will show Paul slaving away on all sorts of things, like this damaged 1970 B-body K-member.

Employing a Porta-Power ram, Paul went right way to fix a dented K-member for a customer. He joked, “Hydraulics, heat, hammer and dolly” were all it took, but we know much more unseen labor was required to get this K-frame back to factory condition.

Paul explained, “[first] we removed the skid plates, taking pictures of the weld patterns,” then he used the portable hydraulic ram to “straighten and weld back as original.” Once reassembled, the K-frame will be properly recoated in semi-gloss black that’ll match Chrysler’s original process.

Project like these, their restoration services for alternators and starters, and a collection of OE and and NOS (new old stock) parts are all part of the Dixie Restorations catalog of products and services. Definitely give them a call at (812) 305-6876 or email mo******@*wc.com today.
