Gallery: Taking A Look At The E-Bodies Of Mecum Kissimmee 2019


With Mecum Kissimmee just around the corner, we finally finish up our four part series (A-bodies, Dodge B-bodies, Plymouth B-bodies and E-bodies), that takes a look at some of the best Mopars that the upcoming auction has to offer when cars cross the auction stage from January 3rd-13th, 2019. With A-bodies, Dodge B-bodies and Plymouth B-bodies complete, we finish everything up with the largest and arguably the most jaw dropping section in the series; the E-bodies. We’ll start it off with the Dodge E-bodies and finish up with the Plymouth E-bodies.

LOT W102: 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A

This F4 Light Green Challenger T/A has 67,000 documented miles on the clock and still has its original black interior, black vinyl top and sheet metal (except for the center of the trunk pan). The 340 Six Pack engine is numbers matching and both fender tags are still with the car. It comes with the original AM/FM radio as well as the Space Saver spare tire with the inflater bottle.

LOT T47: 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A

This stunning T/A comes from the Leipziger Collection and has been fully restored to factory specifications with a beautiful coat of Dark Green paint matched with black interior. It rides on 15″ Rallye wheels wrapped in Goodyear Polyglas tires. Under the hood is the T/A’s standard 340 Six Pack engine backed by a 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission.

LOT T175.1: 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A

It’s not often that you see a Challenger T/A with the rare V1G Gator Grain vinyl top; in fact, approximately only 33 were built with it and this one is one of them! It’s painted in one of our favorite T/A color schemes; EB3 Light Blue with Blue interior. Documented with its original broadcast sheet, this T/A is optioned with the Pistol Grip 4-speed manual transmission, bumper guards, a color-matched drivers mirror, 15″ Rallye wheels and Goodyear Polyglas tires.

LOT F21.1: 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A

Coming from the Doug Pittman Collection, this FC7 Plum Crazy Purple T/A is optioned with the Pistol Grip 4-speed manual transmission and has been very nicely restored. The under carriage has been well detailed as well as the engine bay with that wicked 340 Six Pack. It rides on 15″ Rallye wheels (it needs the correct center caps though) and BF Goodrich Radial T/As.

LOT T140.1: 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T

Treated to a 2 1/2 year rotisserie restoration rotisserie restoration by Ozark Mountain Classics in Mountain Home, Arkansas using original and NOS parts whenever possible, this numbers matching U-code 440 Pistol Grip 4-speed Challenger R/T is equipped with the A33 Track Pak featuring a 3.54 geared Dana 60 rear end, power steering, power front disc brakes, power windows, AM/FM radio, center console, Rallye instrument cluster, remote driver’s mirror, rocker moldings, locking fuel door, hood pins and styled road wheels. It’s painted B5 Blue and accented with a white vinyl top, white bucket seat interior and white longitudinal R/T stripes.

LOT T214: 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T

Coming from the Ronnie Rains Collection, this B5 Blue ’70 Hemi Challenger is just 1-of-287 Hemi Challenger R/T hardtops produced in 1970 for the U.S. The 426 Hemi is backed by a 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission and looks sinister with the color-matched steel wheels and dog dish hubcaps.

LOT F120.1: 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T SE

This real deal R-code 426 Hemi Challenger R/T SE comes from the BMF Muscle Car Collection and is just 1 of 22 produced with a Hemi and a 4-speed in 1970. It was given a full rotisserie restoration back in 2014 and comes loaded with options such as the SE package, A34 Super Track Pack, power windows, power steering, power front disc brakes, tinted glass, AM/FM radio, center console, Rallye dash, Rimblow steering wheel, pedal dress-up, deluxe salt and pepper cloth-and-black vinyl bucket seats, hood pins, bumper guards and 15″ Rallye wheels. It has its original fender tag and numbers matching transmission. The original Hemi is gone but in its place is a date correct un-stamped replacement block. It rolled off the assembly line painted FC7 Plum Crazy Purple with a black vinyl top and stripe delete.

LOT T96.1: 1970 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T

Anybody who knows anything about the FAST drag racing series (Factory Appearing Stock Tire) will know the name Dave Dudek and this ’70 Challenger. Originally a 340 4-speed car, this original Plum Crazy Challenger had a Hemi shoved in it way back in 1976. Dave picked it up at the Mopar Nationals back around 2004 and took it drag racing where it ran mid 11’s on stock Polyglas tires! The car has been in numerous magazines over 100 times and featured in various catalogs and advertisements.

LOT L147: 1970 Dodge Challenger Convertible

If you’re looking for a good clean E-body convertible to drive, this is a great one. Powered by a 318 small black that has been upgraded, this factory FC7 Plum Crazy Purple ’70 convertible has a black power convertible top and white interior.

LOT K291: 1970 Dodge Challenger Pro-Touring

As we mentioned back when we did the Plymouth B-Bodies, modern Mopar engine swaps into classic Mopars are becoming a big thing, especially with E-bodies. This ’70 Challenger features a SRT 6.4L 392 Hemi engine, an automatic transmission, QA1 tubular front suspension, front disc brakes, Hotchkis frame connectors and a digital dash. The car has been done very tastefully in Plum Crazy Purple with white stripes and a white vinyl top. Inside, you’ll find a stock looking black bucket seat interior.

LOT W244: 1971 Dodge Challenger

This beautiful Viper Yellow ’71 Challenger is powered by a 383 big block backed by an automatic transmission. It was given a full ground-up restoration using a correct date coded block. It comes with its original broadcast sheet. Details were slim on this car so we aren’t sure if its a real R/T or not.

LOT F60: 1971 Dodge Hemi Challenger R/T

Featuring its numbers matching engine, this factory 426 Hemi 4-speed Challenger R/T is equipped with the Super Track Pack, Shaker hood, dual body-colored mirrors, 15″ Rallye wheels, AM/FM radio, tinted glass, Tuff steering wheel, Rallye dash, center console, black vinyl top and black houndstooth interior. It looks great with the color-matched steel wheels and dog dish hubcaps! It comes with its original broadcast sheet, window sticker and other various original paperwork. No expense was spared on the restoration as NOS parts were used whenever possible.

LOT G66: 1971 Dodge Challenger

This “ratty” style driver ’71 oozes with potential! Under the hood sits a 440 with dual-four barrel carburetors. It’s painted purple with black interior and a white vinyl top. It needs quite a bit of loving but its being sold from a large collection at no reserve so its the perfect car if you want something you can drive while you restore it. We’d cruise it around in a heartbeat!

LOT F283: 1971 Dodge Challenger Resto-Mod Convertible

Often we see resto-mods that just aren’t done right bu this one however is very tastefully done. A 525 horsepower fuel injected 440 sits under the hood backed by a GM 4L80E automatic transmission. Power steering and a HydroBoost powered Wilwood brake set up make it easy to drive. Vintage Air keeps you cool in the custom black and red stitched leather interior. It also features Hotchkis suspension parts, staggered 19″ and 20″ wheels, LED tail lights, custom gauges and a full Alpine 10-speaker audio system.

LOT U87: 1971 Dodge Challenger Convertible

Coming from the Wilson McMillion Estate Collection, this Hemi Orange Indy Pace Car Challenger convertible has a 318-2 barrel under the hood with an automatic transmission. It’s optioned with the rare wide front end moldings, bumper guards, power brakes, air conditioning and Rallye wheels. It has 20,813 miles on the clock and comes with its original broadcast sheet and comes with a copy of the 1971 Challenger Indy Pace Car advertisement.

LOT L121: 1971 Dodge Challenger Convertible

It’s a small world indeed as we actually drove this particular car last summer at a friend’s place. This clean black Challenger convertible is powered by a 318-4 barrel (dressed up as a 340) and has power steering, power brakes and a power convertible top. It’s been freshly repainted and the front road lights and rear spoiler really set it apart.

LOT W51: 1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye

While this Challenger has one of the strangest paint schemes we’ve seen in quite a while, it is a real deal H-code 340 4-speed Rallye Challenger. Its been upgraded with an Edelbrock aluminum intake and Edelbrock carburetor.

LOT K261: 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda V-Code 440 6-BBL

This factory V-code 440 Six Barrel car was given a full rotisserie restoration back in 2008. It’s loaded with factory options such as the Super Track Pack, Shaker hood, Rallye dash, elastomeric bumper, black hockey stick stripes and a rear Go-Wing. It has its original fender tag and the drive-train is period correct. Its painted in its original FY1 Lemon Twist Yellow paint with a black interior.

LOT T46: 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda 383

Coming from the Leipziger Collection, this FY1 Lemon Twist Yellow ‘Cuda has a 383 under the hood backed by a column shift automatic transmission. Its equipped with factory air conditioning, power steering, power front disc brakes, power windows, rear Go-Wing, dual chrome sport mirrors, hood pins, Rallye gauge cluster, AM-8 track and black hockey stick stripes. Rather than bucket seats, this one has the not-so-common white split bench seat with center fold down armrest.

LOT T152: 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda 440

Also coming from the Leipziger Collection, this numbers matching 440 ‘Cuda is 1 of 618 built with a 440 automatic in 1970 and 1 of 1 as equipped listed in the Chrysler Registry. Its well optioned with the A33 Track Pack, power steering, power front disc brakes, air conditioning, 15″ Rallye wheels, hood pins, rear Go-Wing and fender mounted turn signals. The color combo is very nice with it’s B5 Blue Fire Metallic paint, black hockey stick stripes and blue bucket seat interior.

LOT S213: 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda V-Code 440 6-BBL

Featuring its original sheet metal, this factory V-code 440 Six Barrel ‘Cuda is just 1-of-902 produced with the Pistol Grip 4-speed in 1970. Its optioned with the A33 Track Pak, Shaker hood, hood pins, Rallye gauges and 15″ Rallye wheels wrapped in Goodyear Polyglas tires. This ‘Cuda has 34,386 documented original miles and still has its numbers matching engine, two broadcast sheets and full ownership history with copies of titles. It’s painted B5 Blue Fire Metallic with a black bucket seat interior and black hockey stick stripes.

LOT T227: 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda 440

FY1 Lemon Twist Yellow and B5 Blue Fire Metallic seem to be popular colors on ‘Cudas at this auction! Coming from the Ronnie Rains Collection, this FY1 Lemon Twist Yellow example is powered by a 440 with a Pistol Grip 4-speed. It has a Shaker hood, rear window louvers, elastomeric bumpers, front and rear spoilers, Rallye gauges, Rimblow steering wheel, hood pins, a black vinyl top and 15″ Rallye wheels.

LOT F158: 1970 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda

If one phrase gets people very excited, it’s definitely “Hemi ‘Cuda”. This Y6 Citron Gold Metallic ’70 Hemi ‘Cuda is just 1 of 3 as-equipped examples known to exist. Featuring it’s numbers matching 426 Hemi backed by a date-coded 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission, this ‘Cuda is nicely optioned with a Shaker hood, hood pins, A32 Super-Performance Axle Package (4.10 geared Dana 60) Rallye gauges, chrome mirrors, A01 Light package, tinted windshield, power steering, power front disc brakes, AM/FM radio, rear Go-Wing and 15″ Rallye wheels with Goodyear Polyglas F-60 tires. It also has the not-so-common black vinyl split bench seat with center fold down arm rest. The black vinyl top and black hockey stick stripes add a nice touch.

LOT S187: 1970 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda

This B5 Blue Fire Metallic on White interior Hemi ‘Cuda was sold new at Wills Motor Company in Pittsburgh, PA. As just 1 of 284 produced, this ‘Cuda has a period correct 426 Hemi with all of the correct parts, two original broadcast sheets, original window sticker, an extensive and known ownership history and just 11,836 miles on the clock! Its optioned with the Super Track Pack, power brakes, rear defogger and 15″ Rallye wheels. It also features most of its original sheet metal including the floors and trunk.

LOT S234: 1970 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda

If B5 Blue Fire Metallic or FY1 Lemon Twist Yellow doesn’t get your heart going, then this FE5 Rallye Red example might with its stunning matching red interior. It was sold new at Bales Motor Co. in Jeffersonville, Indiana and has a period correct 426 Hemi backed by a 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission and the A32 Super-Performance Axle Package. Its equipped with the typical Hemi ‘Cuda stuff, has been featured in numerous magazines and comes with two copies of the window sticker; an original and a reproduction.

LOT F128: 1970 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda

What auction wouldn’t be complete without a FC7 In-Violet Hemi ‘Cuda?! Sold new at Roblin Motors in Picton, Ontario, this Canadian spec’ed car was purchased new by a drag racer who was running a Super Bee at the time. When the engine blew-up in the Super Bee, he yanked the Hemi from the ‘Cuda and stuffed it into the Super Bee. Over time, the cars parted ways with each other but eventually, the original 426 Hemi was reunited with the ‘Cuda. It currently has a period-correct 426 Hemi in it but comes with the original numbers matching engine as well! The White interior and White hockey stick stripes look fantastic with the purple paint. Options included a 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission, bucket seats, center console, Rallye gauges, fender-mounted turn signals, AM-8 track player, three-speaker dash and 15″ Rallye wheels.

LOT J226: 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda Convertible

Coming from the Boca Raton Collection, this ‘Cuda convertible was treated to a 7 year restoration and has been fitted with a 426 Hemi, 4-speed transmission, Shaker hood, rear Go-Wing and power convertible top. It’s painted B5 Blue Fire Metallic with a White interior and black top. The ’71 tail lights have us scratching our heads though.

LOT S150.1: 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda 440 Convertible

This ‘Cuda is a rare one as its 1 of only 34 U-Code 440 convertibles produced in 1970. On top of that, its 1 of just 13 known with an automatic transmission and air conditioning and reported to be 1 of 1 built with the options listed. This numbers matching car is fully documented with the original broadcast sheet and came optioned with the mentioned air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, bucket seats, center console, 15″ Rallye wheels, power convertible top, AM-8 track player, A01 Light package, hood pins, fender-mounted turn signals, front and rear spoilers, front elastomeric bumper and factory undercoat. It includes a Vehicle travelers documentation, sales brochure and owners manual. Its had one repaint in its original B5 Blue Fire Metallic color but still retains its original black interior.

LOT T218: 1970 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda Convertible

This beautiful Hemi ‘Cuda Convertible Replica comes from the Ronnie Rains Collection and features a correct looking 426 Hemi backed by a Pistol Grip 4-speed. It was given a full rotisserie restoration and painted FC7 In-Violet Metallic with a black interior and black convertible top.

LOT F142: 1971 Plymouth ‘Cuda 340

If you love Orange, then this is the ‘Cuda for you! This fully documented ’71 340 ‘Cuda is painted EV2 Tor Red (orange) with a matching orange bucket seat interior. Black 340 call out billboard stripes break up all that orange beautifully and a rear spoiler looks wicked on the trunk lid. It came optioned with an AM radio, variable speed windshield wipers, bumper guards, dual color-matched mirrors, 14″ Rallye wheels and a 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission. It comes with its original window sticker and broadcast sheet.

LOT T169: 1971 Plymouth ‘Cuda 340

This EL5 Bahama Yellow 340 ‘Cuda has been given a full rotisserie restoration. It retains its numbers matching 340 and 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission. Its equipped with black 340 call-out billboard stripes, a rear spoiler, road lamps, dual color-matched mirrors and 14″ Rallye wheels. Inside you’ll find a black bucket seat interior with a column shifter.

LOT S247: 1971 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda

Rounding up our four-part Mecum series is this Y8 Gold Leaf Metallic ’71 Hemi ‘Cuda. This ‘Cuda is just 1 of 108 Hemi hardtops produced in 1971, comes with the original broadcast sheet and is believed to have only 17,000 miles on the clock! The rotisserie restoration was completed in 1998 and it came optioned with the Super Track Pack, black Hemi call-out billboard stripes, bucket seats, center console, Rimblow steering wheel, Rallye gauges, AM radio, 8-track player and Dictaphone, rear spoiler, tinted glass, elastomeric front and rear bumpers, road lamps and 15″ Rallye wheels wrapped in Goodyear Polyglas tires.
