As another awe-inspiring SEMA show hits the books, it’s clear that both OEM and aftermarket automotive manufacturers are out to prove that the modern horsepower wars are still very much alive and well. DiabloSport, always focused on the latest in late model performance, took no time at all in getting familiar with the latest from the Mopar showroom floor in their 2019 Hellcat Redeye test car.

As if the factory-supplied 797 horsepower wasn’t enough, the DiabloSport team went to work with a Trinity 2 to see just what exactly they could squeeze out of the cat both on the dyno and at the track. The first extra punch of power was easy to come by. “On our 93 octane tune, the calibrators were able to add 54 hp and 42 lb-ft of torque to the tires over the factory setup on tuning alone with no modifications to hard parts or emissions,” the article explains. While that was plenty good enough to dip into the mid-10-second range, they wanted more.

An upper pulley swap, custom tune, Per4ormance differential brace, and set of Mickey Thompson ET Street R drag radials took it next level as the Redeye boogied down the straightaway to the tune of 9.92 seconds at 132 miles-per-hour. Considering all that power came on pump gas with no modifications to the emissions system, we’d say that’s just downright impressive.
