The week of March 23-31, 2024, marks the 58^th annual Easter Jeep Safari, with tens of thousands of off-road enthusiasts – most of whom are driving a Jeep product – flooding Moab, Utah to play in the sand of some of the most stunning landscapes in the world. Of course, the Jeep brand has a massive presence at the event and as has been the case for many years, one of the key attractions is a collection of new concept vehicles.

“Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, is the perfect venue for new Jeep concepts, with more than 20,000 Jeep enthusiasts gathering each year to celebrate the most iconic 4×4 brand in the world,” said Bill Peffer, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America. “From 4xe electrification to unmatched 392 power, this year’s Jeep 4×4 concepts illustrate how the most capable Wrangler ever appeals to such a wide range of people.”

For the 58^th annual Easter Jeep Safari, the Jeep Performance Parts from Mopar team created four new concept SUVs based on production models – two Wranglers, one Gladiator and one Wagoneer. Each of these vehicles has been transformed into an off-road-ready beast using current offerings from the Jeep Performance Parts catalog along with concept parts, aftermarket pieces and one-off items to create some of the most extreme examples of these modern production vehicles possible. Below, we bring you a look at each of the four concepts on display at the 2024 Easter Jeep Safari.

2024 Jeep® Low Down Concept

First, we have what is likely to be the favorite 2024 Moab concept vehicle, as it is based on the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 – complete with V8 power and a window on the hood. The Low Down Concept was designed to pay tribute to the Jeep Wrangler Lower 40 Concept, which debuted in Moab 15 years ago with V8 power.

Back then, you couldn’t get a V8 in a Wrangler from the factory, making the Lower 40 a real hit with the big power crowd, but thanks to the 475-horsepower Wrangler Rubicon 392 models (which are leaving the lineup after this year), this concept is more closely based on a production model.

In addition to the factory engine and transmission, the Jeep Low Down Concept features the factory suspension setup from the Wrangler Rubicon 392. However, the Rubicon’s Dana 44 axles with 4.10 gears have been replaced by Dana 60 axles with 5.38 gears.

At the end of those axles are gigantic 42-inch BFGoodrich Krawler mud tires wrapped around 20-inch beadlock wheels, all tucked under custom high-clearance carbon fiber fender flares. Even with the stock suspension, the larger tires and the shortened front and rear bumpers provide “dramatic increases” to ground clearance, breakover angle, approach angle and departure angle – all while maintaining a low center of gravity.

To help this Hemi-powered concept draw attention, it is finished in Deep Poison Apple Red exterior paint with a white stripe running up across the hood from the fenders. The exterior has also been enhanced by shaving the rear door handles, adding a race-style fuel filler door on the driver’s side quarter panel and a custom carbon fiber hood with a see-through power dome – allowing everyone to get a good look at the V8 engine when the hood is closed.

On the inside, the Jeep Low Down Concept features custom black leather seats with cloth inserts, Rhino-lined floors, a custom radio-delete instrument panel and a unique red-tinted “bikini top” provides some shade for the cabin of this topless off-road machine.

2024 Jeep® Willys Dispatcher Concept

The second Wrangler to receive the Mopar treatment for Moab is the Jeep Willys Dispatcher Concept and it designed to combine modern technology with a vintage look. The basis for this concept is the Wrangler 4xe, which delivers 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque from the standard hybrid drive system, an 8-speed automatic transmission and a set of Dana 50 Advantech axles with 4.70 gears.

The classic exterior design begins with the unique Element 115 Green exterior paint, gloss black windshield trim and 16-by-7-inch cream-colored aluminum wheels that are designed to look like old school steel wheels, wrapped in classic-looking 6-inch Super Traxion tires.

The Willys Dispatcher Concept also features a custom front bumper with a Warn winch and to really drive home the retro look, the Willys logo is emblazoned along the sides of the hood with a 3D design that looks like the old style stamped letters.

On the inside, the Jeep Willys Dispatcher Concept showcases unique upholstery, with the seats wrapped in distressed saddle leather with houndstooth cloth centers.

To create a more classic-looking seat design in the front and rear, all of the headrests have been removed and a Jeep Performance Parts bikini top stretches across the roll bars to provide shelter from the elements. The package is completed with a vinyl floor cover and an onboard air compressor, both of which come from the Jeep Performance Parts catalog.

2024 Jeep® Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept

The Jeep Gladiator is the most capable truck in the mid-sized segment, and at the Moab Easter Jeep Safari, the team wanted to make their Trail Rated pickup even more capable while keeping with the vintage theme of the other 2024 concept vehicles. The result is the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept.

To create the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept, the team started with a retro two-tone paint scheme featuring Ginger Snap Metallic trim over a black body, along with concept Jeep Performance Parts flat fender flares, 18-by-9-inch Satin Black KMC Grenade Crawl beadlock wheels and 40-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 tires. An AccuAir adjustable air suspension system helps to make room for those big rollers while improving off-road ability.

The exterior also sports a modified front bumper from American Expedition Vehicles with a protective hoop over a Warn winch and power rock rail steps from Rock Slide Engineering, which make it easier to get in and out of the high-riding pickup while also protecting the undercarriage. Even the bed gets an upgrade, with a DECKED storage system featuring dual lockable drawers, but the drawer system is low profile enough to still offer room in the bed for easy cargo hauling.

On the inside, the Jeep Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept has factory seats that have been reskinned with quilted-and-perforated, tan-and-black Alea leather with the Jeep Performance Parts logo embossed on the headrests. There is also a sun bonnet, a pedal kit, all-weather floor mats and door sill guards from Jeep Performance Parts.

The Jeep Gladiator Rubicon High Top Concept is powered by the Pentastar 3.6-liter V6, sending 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque towards the big, meaty tires by means of an 8-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission and Dana 60 front and rear axles, fitted with 5:38 gears.

Last, but certainly not least, we have the Jeep Vacationeer Concept, which is based on the current Grand Wagoneer, powered by the 510-horsepower Hurricane inline-six engine. This vehicle was built to be an ultimate luxury level overlander, so it has been modified to go off-road and provide comfortable accommodations while deep in the wilderness.

The most noticeable feature of the Jeep Vacationeer is the roof-mounted RedTail Overland Skyloft, which is a pop-up sleeping space for two that mounts on the roof of the vehicle. The Skyloft features solar-powered climate control and it accessible from the ground via a ladder or through the interior. To make room for the interior access, the second and third rows of seats have been removed and in their space is a step that can double as a table. Also, the rear cargo area has been coated with bed-liner material, allowing people to remove any muddy shoes and clothing in the vehicle before climbing up into the bed on the roof.

In addition to the sleeping quarters and the items added to make that roof system work, the Jeep Vacationeer is fitted with an array of upgrades that make it a more formidable off-road machine. This includes 35-inch BFGoodrich mud-terrain tires and 18-by-9-inch 701 Method racing wheels, larger wheel openings to accommodate the larger tires, custom bodyside flare extensions, front and rear skid plates, a trio of 11-inch TYRI LED lighting assemblies coated in white Rhino liner and a front-mounted Warn winch.

Finally, the interior was refinished by “renowned fashion designer and Wagoneer enthusiast/owner” Kiel James Patrick, who created what the brand calls “a distinctive and charming New England-inspired pattern” – featuring wood grain, leather and a unique plaid surface on the front seats.
