Sometimes the hardest part about building an awesome project is not being able to get in and enjoy the dang thing. Unless you bought your classic Mopar ready-to-run, you’ve been in the same boat, looking longingly over the lifeless body sitting up on a lift or jack stands ready to receive it’s new powertrain, wheels or what have you.

That’s why we can’t blame the crew from AK Rods & Customs out of Londonderry, New Hampshire. When it came time to fire up this insane all-aluminum 572 cubic inch Hemi topped with a big ol’ Weiand supercharger and dual four-barrels (y’know, adding up to an equally insane 850 horsepower), the crew had to take “Roxanne” out for a spin.

Below you’ll find the video of this sick second generation Charger rowing through the gears and taking some precious miles off of those brand new rubbers. But hey, what good is 850 ponies if you’re just gonna trailer the dang thing? We feel the same way.

For fun, we also included a couple more videos, the next is of Roxanne after receiving final paint and awaiting final assembly, and the final is with the ’69 Charger fully assembled and in driving condition as it debuted at the Charlotte Motor Speedway during last year’s Good-Guys event, headed to the winner’s circle.
