Eaton Expands ELocker Offerings with Next-Gen Dana 60 & Dana 80 applications

Some times the best answers are the simplest answers, and Eaton’s latest additions to its ELocker lineup – namely, the inclusion of the Dana 60 and Dana 80 differentials – prove this point to a “T”. The ELocker is one of Eaton’s most popular differential solutions for those needing unmatched strength, durability and all the while, driveability when the situation demands.

The 4-pinion ELocker designed for exactly that; ready to receive 35-spline axle shafts (40-spline in Dana 80 applications) and capable of receiving 9.75-inch ring gears – permitting use of all 4.10 and down, as well as 4.56 and up gear ratios. The ELocker proved that a locking differential can be smooth, quiet and darn-near grenade-proof when done right.

Here’s the original press release:
Intelligent power management company Eaton today announced that its Mobility segment is expanding its ELocker® differential portfolio with the introduction of next-generation Dana 60 and Dana 80 applications. These products will debut at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, Nov. 3-6 in Las Vegas. The new designs feature Eaton’s first Dana 80 ELocker and a new 4-pinion architecture providing a platform for future ELocker portfolio growth.

The next-generation designs improve durability, strength and overall product robustness for demanding applications. Key features include a ramp-style design, reinforced thrust washer with increased surface area, larger lock collar, upgraded cross-shaft, strengthened cast-iron case and additional ring gear bolt support.

The portfolio expansion includes:

• Dana 60 4-Pinion ELocker®: Rear axle applications featuring a 9.75″ ring gear, 35-spline shafts, and 4.10 & dn and 4.56 & up gear ratios.

• Dana 80 4-Pinion ELocker®: Rear axle applications featuring an 11.5″ ring gear, 40-spline shafts, and 4.10 & up gear ratios.

“Built by enthusiasts for enthusiasts, the new Dana 60 ELocker reflects Eaton’s commitment to product innovation driven by real-world feedback and experience,” said Emily Styburski, product manager, Aftermarket Performance, Eaton’s Mobility segment.

The new applications are scheduled to begin shipping in March 2027.

The current Dana 60 ELocker remains Eaton’s recommended solution and will continue to be fully supported. There are no immediate changes to product availability, ordering or customer support. The new 4-pinion Dana 60 and Dana 80 applications add to Eaton’s ELocker portfolio as the company continues to develop traction solutions for a broader range of applications.
