Model year 2015 marked a monumental change in Dodge Charger and Challenger transmission technology with the switch from the five-speed NAG1 to the eight-speed 8HP.
More specifically, 5.7L and 6.4L cars received ZF’s 8HP70 while Hellcats got its bigger brother, the 8HP90. Both have come to be known as formidable gear-changers suited for way more than the factory Hemis’ ponies.
