Coming from their super successful “Barry ‘Cuda” that was on display at last year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, the master craftsmen at Bair Customs, Inc. have been hard at work on yet another Plymouth E-Body. Although November seems like a long ways away, getting a custom build of this level ready and running in time is quite the thrash.
For those unfamiliar with Bair, the custom car builder and muscle car restorer is owned and operated by Jason Bair, who opened Bair Customs to build, restore, or customize automobiles for auto enthusiasts. As their official website states, “At Bair Customs, Inc. we are committed to providing the highest quality restoration of your performance automobile. Our cars are seen in magazines, on television, and winning top honors at national events and car shows. Attention to detail and high quality is our main focus.”
As mentioned, their current project (aside from all of their ongoing customer work) is a slick two-toned silver-and-black ’70 Plymouth ‘Cuda dubbed “NST” (get it? NST, or nasty), the E-Body will be powered with a modern Hemi powertrain, specifically a 535HP 6.1L Hemi and 5-speed automatic transmission. As the images show, fitting the big gearbox required quite a bit of modification to the trans tunnel.
Specifics as to the modifications to the suspension remain to be seen, but the ‘Cuda features external ques pulled from several different trim options, including a Shaker hood scoop and chin spoilers. Hopefully Bair Customs will reveal more information on this awesome build on their Facebook page prior to the SEMA reveal. Until then, we’ll have this pics to look over.
