Gallery: Dodge Muscle Trucks From Hot Rod Power Tour

Although we did not attend this year’s Hot Rod Power Tour, we came across one of their albums with all of the trucks from Power Tour. As you can imagine there were a majority of other brand trucks than Dodge.

What we were impressed with was the overall amount of trucks that attended. A lot of them you could call muscle trucks. We have always been intrigued with building a muscle truck ourselves and have seen a significant come back of 2wd trucks in the last few years.

It has become easier to build them as companies like Holley and QA1 are making new go fast goodies for many of the popular Dodge Ram trucks. There are so many good parts that our temptation is becoming hard to ignore.

Take a look at the suspension parts QA1 is offering for the 1961-1971 Dodge Ram D100 trucks. The QA1 complete independent front suspension is awesome.

You can adjust the ride height easily with QA1’s coil-overs and then dial in the ride quality with what ever spring rate you need. If you want even more adjustability then upgrade to QA1’s double adjustable coil-overs.

The steering feel will be like driving a modern car with the rack and pinion. The whole suspension will save a few pounds, open up space for a big block or maybe a Gen III Hemi. To top it all off, the Mustang II spindles allows for almost endless options for brakes.

Speaking of Gen III Hemi, Holley has everything you need to swap your 1972-1993 Dodge Ram. Since the QA1 suspension frees open the space and comes with Gen III Hemi motor mount option, it really is the perfect engine choice.

Holley has the breakdown of each step of the swap process and why you need right here. The parts are not a bunch of universal stuff either. They have complete exhaust systems from the headers all the way to the exhaust tip.

Worried about what transmission to put behind your Gen III Hemi? Holley has you covered with adapters and new crossmembers for just about any automatic or manual transmission you can think of. You can keep it old school with a 727 or make it more modern with the 8HP70.

Making it run is probably the easiest part with Holley’s Terminator X kits and their efi fuel pumps. Just hook up a few wires and retro fit Holley’s in take EFI fuel pump and your off and running.

A fuel injected modern handling Dodge D100 sounds like a fun ride. Add in the a useful bed and we think you have a trifecta. We know why the truck scene continues to grow and we are not mad about it. It sucks that piles of junk Mopars are still bringing stupid money, but that is what creates the next big trend. We look forward to seeing many more awesome Rams running the streets.
