Hooker BlackHeart Cat-Back Exhaust for ’17-’21 5.7L Challenger

Recently, Hooker BlackHeart announced an all-new Cat-Back exhaust for the 5.7L-Hemi equipped R/T and T/A Challengers with active exhaust valves (Part No. BH2382). The lightweight 18-gauge 3-inch mandrel bent 304 Stainless Steel construction provides increased performance and augmented corrosion resistance compared to the factory exhaust. In addition, the exhaust is designed to use factory tips to maintain the stock appearance.

The BlackHeart Cat-Back exhaust has a tuned H-pipe and a straight-through muffler design, reducing interior reverberation and providing a mild to aggressive performance note. The entire exhaust is hand-welded, and each mounting point is placed in the factory location for a proper fit.

Above Left: The Hooker BlackHeart Cat-Back exhaust is constructed of lightweight 18-gauge 3-inch mandrel bent 304 Stainless Steel. Above Right: The exhaust provides increased performance and corrosion resistance. In addition, the exhaust is designed to use the factory mounts to allow an interference-free installation.

The active valve actuators mount in the stock positions, and the OEM harness connectors reattach to the actuators, but the exhaust is a valve-less design. As a result, the exhaust remains free-flowing at all times, and the check engine light does not illuminate.

The entire exhaust is designed for a hassle-free installation and maximum ground and chassis component clearance. BlackHeart includes all the hardware for the exhaust, and there is a limited lifetime warranty.

Above Left: BlackHeart designed the exhaust to utilize the factory exhaust tips. Above Right: The active exhaust actuators are fully functional, but there are no valves in the exhaust. The result is a full-flowing exhaust without illuminating the check engine light.

Above: Hooker has tested the Cat-Back exhaust, and the chassis dyno results show an increase of 20 horsepower and 26 lb-ft of torque.

The exhaust is a level 5 emission component, so the installation does not affect vehicle emissions and is not subject to emissions regulations. Lastly, chassis dyno testing has proven performance gains of 20 horsepower and 26 lb-ft of torque at the drive wheels.

If a free-flowing exhaust with a deeper tone is desired along with confirmed performance increases and emissions compatibility, check out Hooker BlackHeart for the ’17-’21 5.7L-Hemi exhaust and all the BlackHeart performance exhaust products.
