To be honest, we weren’t sure which of these two announcements to make first! Each year, all of us at Mopar Connection Magazine want to make our booth at the annual Holley MoParty bigger than before and because we’ve got so much slated for this coming September 12-14th, we’re starting to get a little tumbled up! So buckle up, we’ve got a lot of great reasons to stop in and say, “Hey!”
First, we’re celebrating a decade of Mopar Connection Magazine this year! That’s right, it’s been ten whole years of producing the world’s only daily digital Mopar enthusiast magazine.
As of this coming Wednesday, that will make exactly 2,700 articles published reaching literally millions of readers. And we’ve continued to do it complete subscription-free to you. We’ve never charged you a dime and promise to continue as-is.
To ring in our anniversary, we created this super cool retro ringer T-shirt that really hearkens back to the old “Direct Connection” catalog days.
While already listed on our online store, we’ll have ’em all on site to pick up in person. That means no added shipping costs or pesky sales tax! We’ll also have our reissued “What Does Mopar Mean to You” T-shirts (our most popular design thus far) as well as whatever else we’ve got in stock.
Next, we’re bringing back Mopar Connection Magazine’s super popular Scavenger Hunt at the annual Holley MoParty! Year after year, we’ve given out literally thousands of dollars in cash and prizes and this year will be no different! MCM‘s Scavenger Hunt sponsor Edelbrock is not only returning but blowing the lid off of the prize payout!
Mopar Connection and Edelbrock will be giving out prizes for our first, second and third place contestants: the winner will walk home with a brand new 750cfm Edelbrock VRS-4150 carburetor, a billet adjustable fuel rail kit, an Edelbrock flag to hang in their garage, and $200 cash from Mopar Connection Magazine.
Runners-up prizes will include an Edelbrock AVS2 650cfm carburetor (with an electric choke), a steel fuel line kit, fender covers, an MCM T-shirt and Edelbrock flags for your home garage! And all your have to do to enter our scavenger hunt is be at the Mopar Connection Magazine booth in the Manufacturer’s Midway at 9am Saturday, September 13th.
Once you’ve got your copy of the scavenger hunt list, you’re free to scour the MoParty to snap a photo of each item on the list (with the MCM decal in the frame to ensure that nobody uses Google Images to cheat), and be the first to return back to the Mopar Connection booth to show us your findings! The first to return with the most items found wins!
Lastly and frankly, most exciting, is we’re welcoming Rust Bucket Restos’ David Swearinger and his ’70 Dodge Super Bee – the Super BEEast – to the Mopar Connection Magazine booth! Many will recall that this was once our ill-fated project car, and we couldn’t be happier with the progress that David has made in such a short time.
If you haven’t been following David’s channel, you’ve been missing out. The BEEast is completely rebuilt with fresh metal from Auto Metal Direct and restructuring from US Car Tool (USCT Motorsports), not to mention a wild Gen III Hemi fitted with all sorts of Holley performance parts. Well, David’s coming to MoParty and parking the BEEast at our booth.
Together with the BEEast we’ll be welcoming nearly every project car we’ve featured in MCM over the past decade, Mike Wilkins’ ’70 Plymouth Hemi ‘Cuda “The Comeback ‘Cuda”; Chris Wozniak’s “Sick Fish” 408-stroker-powered ’73 Plymouth ‘Cuda and “Green GO!” drag-and-drive ’70 Plymouth Satellite; David Kruk’s Optima Ultimate Street Car-contender ’70 Dodge Super Bee “Buzzkill”; MCM YouTube co-host Jim Hannan’s ’67 Plymouth Satellite; as well as MCM’s ’69 Dodge Charger R/T “Brazen” and our ’70 Plymouth Fury III convertible “Marsha.”
We’re hoping to squeeze in a few more project car surprises for you diehard fans who’ve been with us over the years, so you’ll definitely want to come by the Manufacturer’s Midway at this upcoming Holley MoParty, September 12-14th. Nowhere else will you find more cool cars, special guests, and cool giveaways. Don’t miss out!
