Benefits of the Gen III (G3) Hemi platform are many, but one of the primary advantages has to be the plentiful availability of aftermarket components. Even blocks are readily-available, some of which are designed and built for some heavy-duty horsepower.
Take the Callies Performance cast iron G3 Hemi blocks as an example. Offered by Summit Racing, these literal building blocks are produced using the original Mopar molds, cores, and engineering data. That means they’re officially licensed and even carry Mopar part numbers. It doesn’t get much closer to OEM durability than that.
Both 6.2L and 6.4L Big Gas Engine (BGE) versions can be had as a bare block, block with OptiTorque main stud kit, block with main studs and billet aluminum main caps, or block with main studs, billet main caps, and line hone machining operation already performed.
For those that need to go one step further, Callies and Summit can also set up with an aluminum Hellephant (P/N P5160271AA) or Drag Pak (P/N P5160272AA) block with billet aluminum main caps and precision-machined lifter bores.
Cast from A355 aluminum, they both can support 1,500-plus horsepower with a 9.250-inch deck height and mix of 4-bolt and 6-bolt main caps. Bores are rough-machined to 4.120 inches and do require finish honing.
With such a variety of high-quality bases, it’s as easy as ever to have a heavy-breathing Hemi built. Visit Summit Racing to get started.
