Speedtech Performance’s New ExtReme Chassis for 1968-70 B-Bodies

Restoring a vehicle can be daunting, especially when rust threatens its structural integrity. But fear not, Speedtech Performance has recently unveiled a full weld-in ExtReme Chassis with an independent rear suspension (IRS) for the 1968-70 Mopar B-Bodies, providing a reliable solution to this common concern.

Speedtech Performance has pioneered a unique chassis, the first of its kind, featuring a fully weld-in frame and a drop-out subframe. The innovative design is tailored for muscle car era Road Runners, Chargers, Coronets, Super Bees, and other B-Bodies, promising to restore the B-Body’s structural integrity and add a Sport-Touring performance edge to the muscle car.

When upgrading the suspension and chassis to modern technology, there is no better choice than Speedtech Performance. Their comprehensive Extreme Suspension kit is a testament to this, offering improved handling and ride quality with precision and comfort that was previously unattainable with older stock setups. With Speedtech Performance, you can transform your classic car into a high-performance ride without sacrificing its traditional charisma.

Ryan Thompson, Design Engineer at Speedtech Performance, stated,

“The Speedtech ExtReme IRS Chassis is the pinnacle of what an aftermarket chassis has to offer. It takes everything that you could want out of full-blown, high-G-pulling, race-winning, supercar beating, muscle car, and puts it into a tame-when-you-want-it-to-be package that you can drive to the grocery store. What more could you want than an old muscle car that you can take to the track and outpaced a Ferrari, casually take to the grocery store, and pick up the weekly rations, and then comfortably road trip a couple of thousand miles on a weekend. That’s what the Speedtech Extreme Chassis can do.”

The ExtReme Chassis sets the standard for Pro Touring with state-of-the-art features. Each kit has box welded construction, a removable subframe, options for low-mount or high-mount cantilevered shock arrangements, optimized suspension geometry to correct the Ackermann angle, and forged spindles. The front and rear ride height is adjustable for the owner’s preferred vehicle stance. Lastly, the ExtReme Chassis has unmatched strength and durability, which can manage up to 1200 horsepower, and with additional options, has the capability of withstanding 1800 horsepower.

Jeremey Davies, Head R&D Technician, said,

“Let’s face it, vintage muscle cars were not built to handle the power of today’s modern engines, and they do not provide the same driving experience with factory suspension. Our proven suspension gives you the ultimate performance on the street, and if you choose to hit the track – we have multiple National Championships to back that up as well.

“With most floors having damage or rust that needs (to be) repaired, or tunnel modifications for modern transmissions, the Speedtech Performance system takes care of all of that for you. Additionally, welding in the frame rails adds all the torsional strength needed to handle the power of a modern engine. The drop-out subframe on these chassis is a real benefit when doing installation or maintenance to the engine, transmission, or even the suspension.”

Each kit includes high-performance parts. These include a Dutchman 9-inch aluminum center housing, 33-spline half-shaft axles with RCV-934 CV joints, QA1 adjustable coil-over shocks with owner-selectable spring rates, custom steering and control arms, and stainless-steel exhaust and steering components. The kit also includes engine mounts and adapter plates for a late-model Hemi, complete brake packages from Baer or Wilwood that include optional parking brake integration, and a wheel and tire package to finish the look with style.

The Speedtech Performance ExtReme Chassis is the future of Pro Touring that is available today. Whether for the street or the track, an ExtReme Chassis will offer the comfort, precision, and durability that classic car enthusiasts have desired for years. It is time to upgrade your B-Body, and Speedtech Performance’s representatives are ready to collaborate with you to move your classic into the future.
