It goes without saying that the Mopar community lost one of its biggest advocates with the passing of Roland Osborne in 2017. Osborne’s impact on the Mopar community – whether through his time running CPPA, collaborating with aftermarket companies to develop new products or helming Chrysler Power for years, and much more – resounds to this day.
One such item is Roland’s “dream build”, a 1965 Plymouth Satellite. The initial vision was to recreate one of his early project cars and use it to write a series of feature articles documenting its build. Shortly after buying the Plymouth, it was sent to Moo Mesa Rendezvous shop in Sayre, PA for new quarter panels.
From there it went to USCT Motorsports for chassis stiffening and some much needed (and extensive) rust repair. Sadly, this is where it has sat since that time. The rust free shell is in desperate need of a new caretaker to pick up where Roland, and subsequently, his son Coleman, who tried to continue the build a few years after his dad’s passing, left off.
Originally equipped with a 361 low deck big block, now features a 426 Wedge and backed with a 4-speed manual (as per a 2019 Facebook update), the white B-body also comes with portions of a red bucket seat interior from Legendary Auto Interiors. USCT has studiously documented the restoration process, which can be viewed here.
Those serious buyers interested in pick up the torch and completing the assembly of this beautiful 1965 Plymouth Satellite project need to reach out to John Pasemann at USCT Motorsports by calling (919) 855-8200 ext. 102 or emailing him directly at john@usctmotorsports.com.
