While the wind of change is moving the automotive industry into new uncharted territory, Edelbrock is doubling down on parts for internal combustion engines. At the 2023 SEMA event, Edelbrock introduced two new cylinder heads for the GEN III Hemi engine, the Performer RPM and the Victor CNC.
The GEN III Hemi remains hot with late-model enthusiasts and with engine swappers slipping a GEN III into Detroit muscle cars. The Performer RPM 6-bolt heads are first-rate replacement heads for all high-performance engines. The superior design increases the airflow through the engine, which in turn provides increased efficiency on the street and greater performance on the track.
With six bolts per cylinder, the clamping force at each cylinder is increased. The heads work on a factory 15-bolt or 23-bolt aftermarket engine block. The intake and exhaust ports are in the factory location of a 6.4-liter engine, but each port is CNC-machined for increased airflow. The Eagle 5.7-, 6.1-, and 6.4-liter intake manifolds are compatible with the heads.
Edelbrock assembles each head with COMP Cams valve train components, which include Chromoly steel retainers, Beehive valve springs, severe-duty stainless-steel valves, and prime-quality valve seals. The Beehive springs allow a lift of up to 0.675 inches. With an added integrated truss design, the extra strength helps to stabilize valve train actuation at high RPM.
If increased airflow is required, the new Victor CNC 6-Bolt cylinder heads are the next step. Like the Performer RPM, the Victor heads have excellent clamping load and are compatible with factory 15-bolt or aftermarket 23-bolt engine blocks. The Victor has fully CNC-ported combustion chambers and intake and exhaust runners, but they do not have valve train components.
The Victors have manganese bronze valve guides, which control the valve side movement. Thus, the valves seal securely and eliminate leak-down while increasing cylinder pressures. Edelbrock offers COMP Cam parts kits and components to complement the heads, whether the engine is naturally aspirated or forced induction. The Victor heads can accommodate a maximum lift of 0.700 inches.
If a bolt-on cylinder head update is in the future, check out Edelbrock’s Performer RPM heads, and if more power is desired, the Victor CNC heads. For more information, contact the helpful Edelbrock representatives.
