When it comes to hitting the road course, one might expect to see an array of Corvettes, Porsches and even a few Mustangs…but how about a big bright yellow 1970 Dodge Super Bee? That’s what many on the Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge, Motorstate Challenge and other circuits have come to find.
Like a superhero with a staid, everyday alter-ego, David Kruk spends his weekdays helping restore, rebuild and oftentimes modify classic American muscle cars. Yet on the weekends, David’s quiet, mild demeanor slips away as he pilots his G3 Hemi-powered Super Bee around chicanes and complicated cone courses.
Of course, readers of Mopar Connection Magazine will recognize both this car as “Project Buzzkill” as well as David as a regular contributor, providing this publication with a torrent of restoration and road racing technical articles. In fact, we’re expecting a flood of updates on his ‘Bee to start pouring in any minute now.
All of that being said, David was cornered in the Auto Metal Direct booth at Goodguys Rod & Custom Show in Columbus, Ohio by the film crew at Speedtech Performance. In the video embedded below, they go over all the suspension and chassis upgrades, and why David went with QA1 and Speedtech Performance suspension.
