Let’s face it, even if folks live long enough to see it, most marriages don’t make it 50 years. So when a company dedicated to adding comfort and climate control to custom hot rods and muscle cars celebrates half of a century of business, it’s truly something to take note of. Vintage Air is one such company and the announcement sent ripples of excitement through the automotive aftermarket.
In a recent post published to their Facebook page, Vintage Air announced its half-century celebration. Years ago, building a stout hot rod meant stripping the car of every conceivable luxury to order to save weight to maximize performance. Such is no longer the case with Vintage Air’s lightweight and compact air conditioning systems. And yes, they can also adapt to cars that never came with A/C like all those Hemi-equipped Mopars.
Vintage Air has been a supporter of the Mopar enthusiast market since its inception, and has proven its dedication through its SureFit kits for B- and E-bodies as well as adaptation kits for A-bodies and recent efforts into C-bodies thanks specifically its unique “Builder’s Series” of production and to Mopar Connection Magazine’s “Marsha” 1970 Plymouth Fury III convertible project.
Here’s the original press release:
In 2026, Vintage Air proudly celebrates 50 years in business, marking a major milestone built on innovation, craftsmanship and a deep-rooted passion for the automotive hobby. For five decades, Vintage Air has been operated by experienced engineers and craftsmen who understand what enthusiasts and builders demand, because they’ve lived it themselves.
From the very beginning, Jack Chisenhall, founder of Vintage Air, set out to design and deliver the most technologically advanced and comprehensive line of high-performance air-conditioning and climate-control systems, all in an effort to make driving hot rods more comfortable during the hot Texas summers.

Vintage Air’s mission has always been simple: help builders cool their vehicles the right way. With systems purpose-built for street rods, custom trucks and performance vehicles, Vintage Air offers solutions tailored to real-world builds. From bolt-in SureFit Kits to the versatile Builder Series and Front Runner Drive Systems, the lineup is designed to make installation straightforward while delivering year-round comfort.
