Videos: Utah Man Stops Police Chase with His Ram; Gets $15,000 In Upgrades

What started out as a quiet day at the park turned out to be almost disastrous for a number of families. Bryson Rowley was praised and hailed as a hero after he used his Dodge Ram 3500 to literally ram a stolen car that was speeding through the crowded park; thus ending a dangerous high-speed police chase. The saying is true; “If you can’t Dodge it, Ram it”. Police say the pursuit started after a 14-year-old stole his grandfather’s Hyundai Veloster and took it for a joyride.

The teen led officers through neighborhoods at high speeds and eventually ended up tearing through the crowded park. Cell phone video on YouTube shows children having to quickly jump out of the way of the speeding car while parents scream in horror at the events unfolding in front of them. When Bryson saw the car turning around to head back towards the back, he jumped into his truck and used it to end the chase before any of the children or other bystanders could get injured. His actions proved to be successful and neither him nor the driver of the Veloster were injured either. The teen was quickly arrested and taken to a detention center.

In this video by KSL5 News, it was reported that Carstar Collision in West Valley City, Utah decided they wanted to help Bryson and thank him for his actions in their own way. They reached and offered to make all of the repairs to his Ram absolutely free of charge. “I didn’t know what to expect. They actually just showed up at my house with a rental car and a tow truck and took my truck from me” says Bryson. Once other local businesses heard about what the collision shop was doing, they stepped in and wanted to help themselves; donating $15,000 in aftermarket parts to customize Bryson’s Ram.
