Hosting an all-Mopar event at a drag strip is like chocolate and peanut butter going together – it just a no-brainer. And the folks putting on the Mopars at The Park event in Tulsa, OK know this all too well. This November 1st, they are celebrating 20 years of their annual event at the Tulsa Raceway Park with a full test-and-tune session and racing, not to mention a swap meet, car show and vendor midway.
But something that really stood out and is worth being announced through Mopar Connection Magazine is the event’s charitable efforts with Broken Arrow Neighbors to provide non-perishable food and cash donations to families during this upcoming holiday season.
In addition to the above items, Mopars at The Park is also asking for unwrapped toys for their toy drive, giving less fortunate kids something special for Christmas.
Even if you cannot attend this year’s event, maybe consider making a donation to these efforts. It’s a great way to spread some Christmas spirit and brighten some people’s lives, which we think we could all appreciate.
Here’s the original press release:
Friday, October 31st, Tulsa Raceway Park will showcase Mopars at Friday night Test-n-Tune. Saturday, November 1st gates will open at 8:00 am to start our day. Participants can enter a car show, swap meet, drag races, mini drags (3 power wheels classes), a vendor midway (highlights our sponsors and small businesses), and most importantly socializing. This event attracts 5-600 attendees from surrounding states.
We will be collecting non perishable food and cash donations for Broken Arrow Neighbors at the Mopar desk and new unwrapped toys for a toy drive. Our event falls close to the holiday season and this will be a big help for BAN and the toy drive. BAN provides food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners to the surrounding area. This organization helps year round for those in need. Your generosity at the Mopar Desk will help feed children and their families for the holidays! The toys will go to the Salvation Army Angel Tree for children who won’t have something under the tree.
We are hoping for the biggest and best year yet for number 20!
