As we mentioned on April 12th, we’re taking a look at some of the best Mopars that the upcoming Mecum Indianapolis auction has to offer. The auction is taking place from May 14th-22nd, 2021 and is absolutely packed full of some killer Mopars. As promised, we are going to take a look at some of our favorite B-Bodies coming up for auction.

We will note the famous No. 88 NASCAR 1969 Dodge Daytona Charger will also be included in this auction but we intend on doing a full showcase feature on it coming very soon so it won’t be included in this! Surprisingly, there are virtually no A-Bodies coming up for auction so unfortunately we can’t showcase them.

LOT R321: 1967 Plymouth Satellite Convertible from “Tommy Boy”
If you’re into comedy movies, then you’ll probably remember the 1967 GTX convertible featured in the movie “Tommy Boy” starring David Spade and the late Chris Farley. This 383 powered Satellite was used in the movie and retains its as-used movie condition. It has also appeared in several movies, TV series and Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream music video.

LOT F45: 1969 Dodge Charger R/T SE
Coming from the Dallas and Ammie Hawkins collection, this stunning ’69 R/T SE checks all of the boxes with a beautiful color combination and a killer stance. Under the hood is a 440 Magnum engine backed by a 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission. It rides on YearOne Magnum 500 wheels sized at 17×8 up front and 17×9 out back and we absolutely love the stance!

LOT R510: 1969 Dodge Daytona Charger
With only 29,256 original miles on the odometer, this real ’69 Daytona is totally unrestored and numbers matching! Delivered new to New Dodge City in Tulsa, Oklahoma, it came equipped with the 440 Magnum engine and A833 4-speed manual transmission. Painted in R4 Bright Red with a black wing and interior, this Daytona has won numerous awards and we can see why!

LOT S41: 1969 Dodge Hemi Super Bee
Sold new in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with a price tag of $4,398.10, this factory 426 Hemi 4-speed Super Track Pak Super Bee coupe is a jaw dropper! One of just 79 produced for 1969, it is believed to have 15,739 original miles on it and feature its original Y2 Sunfire Yellow paint and black bench seat interior.

LOT R520: 1970 Dodge Hemi Charger R/T
If you love 1970 Chargers, you’re gonna love this one! This Hemi Charger R/T has only 14,000 original miles on it and is totally unrestored; featuring its original driveline, interior, glass, exhaust, belts and hoses. Sold new at Broadway Dodge in Gary, Indiana, it came from the factory painted EV2 Hemi Orange with a black vinyl top, black interior, black longitudinal pinstripes and the V21 hood blackout.

LOT R204: 1970 Plymouth Superbird
Painted FJ5 Limelight Green with a black vinyl top and black bucket seat interior, this gorgeous factory Superbird was treated to a full OE specification restoration. Under the hood sits a Super Commando 440 engine backed by an A833 4-speed transmission. Out back is a A33 Track Pack coded Dana 60 rear differential with 3.54 gears.

LOT R512: 1970 Plymouth Superbird
Its spectacular how many incredible unrestored Mopars are a part of this auction and this EV2 Tor Red Superbird is no exception. Sold new at Ed Ousley Chrysler Plymouth in Prestonburg, Kentucky, this Superbird is totally unrestored and has only 5,400 original miles on it! Fully documented with every piece of documentation you could imagine, it features its numbers matching V-Code 440 Six Barrel engine under the hood. This Superbird is reportedly the 200th Superbird built and the 100th V-Code Superbird built.

LOT R515: 1970 Plymouth Road Runner
Another unrestored Mopar coming up for auction is this FY1 Lemon Twist Yellow Road Runner with only 39,175 original miles. Featuring its original paint, interior and numbers matching drivetrain, this Road Runner is stripped down perfection. The black bench seat interior and color matched steel wheels with dog dishes suit the car very well.

LOT F74: 1970 Plymouth GTX
It doesn’t get much better than a B-Body painted in a Hi-Impact color and equipped with a big block, Pistol Grip 4-speed manual transmission and a N96 Air Grabber hood! Painted in FJ5 Limelight, this beautiful GTX has a 440 under the hood that has been tasteful modified.

LOT R76: 1971 Plymouth GTX
We can’t express how much we love the color combination of this GTX! Painted GW3 Sno White with a beautiful P3B5 Blue bench seat interior, this GTX is reportedly one of one produced as equipped. Treated to a full restoration, it features its numbers matching U-code 440 Super Commando engine under the hood along with factory air conditioning.

LOT R91: 1971 Plymouth Road Runner
Last but certainly not least is this beautiful Road Runner that we are quite partial to as we used to own it’s similar twin. Painted EV2 Tor Red, it features the legendary orange and black “Halloween” bucket seat interior. Under the hood is a correct 383 engine backed by an A833 Pistol Grip 4-speed transmission. It’s been beautifully equipped with the N96 Air Grabber hood, front and rear spoilers and a black roof strobe stripe. Our good friend Kori Alexander at Show & Go Restoration worked on this one so you know it’s done well!
