Baer continues to be right on top of the modern brake market with their new 13” SS4 rear brake system for 2007-2018 Jeep JKs, 2018-2019 JLs, and 2020 Gladiators. The Jeep brand is one of the most heavily-modded vehicle lineups out there, so it’s important to remember the “whoa” pedal when you’re upping the “go” pedal. Getting a few extra horses out of that 3.6-liter engine might necessitate a little extra stopping power as well.
The great thing about it is that it’s a direct bolt-on that comes with everything needed for the upgrade; rotors, calipers, brake pads, brackets, hardware, and instructions are all included. Baer’s S4 4-piston calipers mount to 1-piece 13” rotors that can be slotted, drilled, vented, and/or zinc-plated. DOT-compliant dust and weather seals make them ready for off-road duty. The caliper brackets utilize Baer’s Verislide design that lets the calipers float on factory C-clip axles to normalize and maximize pad wear. Wheels 17” and larger will provide enough clearance for the big discs.
Be sure to check out Baer Brake Systems at the 2019 SEMA Show from November 5-8 at booth #24125. They’ll have all of the latest in high-performance braking technology along with a display car or two. Last year, Jeep JL brake systems for 17” and 18” wheels were just a few of the new products on hand. We can’t wait to see what they roll out this year!
