Nowadays, it seems like Facebook is the place to go when it comes to buying and selling Mopar cars and parts. While Craigslist is still quite popular, classifieds in various Mopar groups on Facebook are gaining popularity where as eBay Motors and classifieds on Mopar forums look to be slowing down. It’s actually getting quite amazing what you can find for sale on Facebook lately.
Earlier in the year, we came across an ad on the “Mopars Unlimited” Facebook group for a bunch of Mopars and parts down in Jonesboro, Arkansas. It was advertised as a bit of a “fire or blow out sale” of a multi-decade long collection. Included in the cars for sale was a true diamond in the rough. Sitting between a fence and a yellow Challenger race car in the corner of a yard was a real deal 1969 ½ A12 Super Bee. In factory Butterscotch, to boot! With an asking price of $25,000 US, the car looked to have survived the rust bug for the most part and looked to retain all of it’s parts, including the special A12 only pieces.
While there are plenty of Mopars still sitting out in the woods waiting for someone to buy and rescue them, it’s pretty rare to find a factory A12 Six-Pack car in those circumstances. Even more rare being in Butterscotch. According to the A12 Registry, only 1,487 A12 Super Bee hard tops were built and only 661 with an automatic like this one. We were told a lucky buyer by the name of Darrell out of Florida brought this beast home and is planning on a full restoration back to it’s original glory. From what we were told, he also owns another 1969 A12 car as well so we are sure it’s gone to the right home. We can’t wait to see the results!
