Maintaining brand quality begins with manufacturing with superior materials, and let’s be frank for a minute here, that’s been a major problem over the past decade or so.
Recently, Summit Racing announced the addition of Jesel’s new Sportsman Series of Tie-Bar Roller Lifters. Borrowing heavily from Jesel’s Pro Series lifters but targeting a more affordable budget segment, the Sportsman Tie-Bar Roller Lifters deliver the same top quality product, superior performance and top tier standards that puts Jesel at the top of the list.
Made using 8620 steel alloy for the lifter bodies, and using the same heat-treated stainless steel tie-bars, polished tool steel cam rollers, axles, and hardware as the aforementioned Pro Series lifters, Jesel is placing premium performance in the budget-minded racer’s hands. No shortcuts were taken here. And yes, these Tie-Bar Roller Lifters are specifically designed with Mopars in mind – not just a market segment afterthought.
Oh yeah? Yeah. Jesel offers lifters for both Mopar RB big block and 426 Hemi; and you maniacs running or modding your Viper V10. Jesel even offers a choice of lifter diameters (from .842- to .905-inch) with offset or on-center pushrod seats. Again, top quality parts for a fraction of the cost. That’s how Jesel does it.
Here’s the original press release:
Mechanical roller lifters are one part you don’t want to skimp on. Lifter failure on a performance street or race engine at high RPM will not only cost you a new set of lifters, but possibly an engine rebuild thanks to all those little bits of busted lifter running amok in the poor engine’s bottom end.
That’s why you should take a good look at Jesel Sportsman Series Tie-Bar Roller Lifters for your next engine refresh or new build. They have many of the features and the durability of Jesel’s Pro Series lifters but are more affordable.
The Sportsman Series lifters feature a polished version of the Pro Series’ 8620 steel alloy lifter bodies, and use the same heat-treated stainless steel tie-bars, polished tool steel cam rollers, axles, and hardware. No skimping on quality here.
The Sportsman Series lifters come standard with bronze-bushed cam rollers that have
been tested over one million cycles on Jesel’s in-house Spintron. Bushed rollers can handle very high impact loads—an engine banging against a rev limiter, for example—but do add a bit of drag. If less friction is paramount, you can get Sportsman Series lifters with needle bearing cam rollers at no extra cost. Both types are lubricated by pressurized oil flow through the lifter body to ensure adequate cooling of the bearing components.
Jesel Sportsman Series Tie-Bar Lifters are available for small block and big block Chevy; Gen 3 LS; small block and 429-460 Ford; Mopar RB big block and 426 Hemi; and Mopar Viper V10. You have a choice of lifter diameters from .842- to .905-inch with offset or on-center pushrod seats.
