Anyone looking to upgrade or install an overdrive transmission in their Mopar, ’tis the season to do it. If you haven’t heard, Passon Performance has created the ultimate Hemi 4-Speed Overdrive for your classic Mopar and it’s a direct fit. Passon has A, B and E-body Hemi Four-Speed Overdrives in stock and on sale till December 31!
As many of you know the stock aluminum overdrive transmissions had many issues including weak 23 spline input shaft, absence of evenly spread gear ratios, undercut main shaft in 3rd gear, lack of well machined 1st gear and much more. About the only positive about the OD units is 4th gear is optimal for low gears when cruising at highway speeds. Passon Performance took the only good part, overdrive gear, and combined it with the bulletproof Hemi 18-spline 4-speed to produce the new Hemi Four-Speed Overdrive.
Besides using improved materials, the Hemi OD unit also uses a stock 1:1 large journal main shaft for increased strength, increased strength with 18 spline input shaft, excellent gear spread to limit excessive RPM drop between shifts, increased root diameter of all gears an its made right here in the USA. The Hemi OD gives you a 21% drop in cruising RPMs. That calculates out to 2580 rpms at 65mph with 4.10:1 gears and 28-inch tall tire compared to a stock A833 at 3,248 rpms. You can order the Hemi 4-Speed Overdrive transmission in cast iron, weight saving aluminum or if you already have a case, you can order just the gearset.
The best part of the Hemi Four-Speed Overdrive is its bolt in, that means no cutting, no modifying, no incorrect driveline angles, no specialty bellhousings and linkage, etc that comes with other overdrive transmissions.
We understand the Hemi Four-Speed Overdrive might be a tad large for a stocking but it will look great sitting under the tree for the Mopar enthusiast on your list. To receive your special pricing give Passon Performance a call and mention Mopar Connection Magazine and they will take care of the rest.
