With the popularity of Mopar’s Hellcrates along with inexperienced drivers wrecking cars, the 6.2 supercharged Hemi is readily available. Who does not like the whine of a supercharger and having 700+ horsepower at your disposal? The Hellcat motor has a lot going for it but the best part is it fits under the stock hood of many classic Mopars. Bill at Reilly Motorsports has helped many customers cram Hellcats in their engine bays and has even designed his own low profile way crossover to help it fit easier.
Reilly Motorsports AlterKtion suspension the simplest way to get a Gen III Hemi in your A, B or E body. With the addition of coil overs and throwing out the old torsion bars creates a lot more room for headers, oil pans, linkage and more. The tubular design and front mounted steering rack also creates more space for parts and accessibility. Bill has found out over the the last few years that the Hellcat motor fits in E-bodies fairly easy but A and B bodies not so much. The biggest issue was the back of the supercharger where the coolant flows into the supercharger.
Bill found that with A and B bodies the water crossover on the back of the Hellcat’s supercharger hit the fire walls. With the aftermarket for Hellcat parts being slim to none, Bill decided to create his own solution. He designed a Hellcat Low Profile Water Crossover that would shave 1.5 inches off the thickness. The lower profile would allow the Hellcat motor to fit easily into B-bodies and even A-bodies.
The low profile water crossover was designed for performance and built in house. Reilly Motorsports CNC’s the two housings from billet aluminum and connects them with Oring fittings, Gates 5/8″ hose and leak-proof permanent heat-shrink clamps. It looks as good as it performs.
