Gallery: Ram Rumble Bee Debuts with Three Hemi Engines

Since the Ram 1500 TRX was introduced with Hellcat power, many Mopar fans have been calling for an on-road performance truck with the supercharged Hemi. The TRX can be modified to be an absolute monster on any surface, but the off-road-readiness of that model adds weight that is not needed for going fast on paved roads. In short, many folks want to see a modern take on the Dodge Ram SRT-10 and earlier this week, those folks got their wish.

The 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee SRT is a half-ton pickup with supercharged Hellcat Hemi power, built to dominate paved surfaces. Packing 777 horsepower, 680 lb-ft of torque, the 8HP95 8-speed transmission and a four-wheel-drive system with a Borg Warner 48-11 transfer case that allows this truck to make use of that power, the Rumble Bee SRT will cover the quarter mile in the mid-11-second range.

Also, unlike the TRX, it does not have a stupid-low top speed due to the speed ratings of off-road tires – Ram is targeting a top speed of 170 miles per hour. The package includes a dramatic front fascia and a spoiler atop the tailgate that work together to provide the downforce needed to safely reach those speeds, but that muscular front end also pulls in plenty of air to cool the supercharged Hemi.

As you might expect, the 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee comes with monstrous Brembo brakes up front, measuring more than 16 inches under the 6-piston calipers, all tucked under 325/40R22 rubber wrapped around 22×11-inch wheels. Other than the Viper, no other Mopar vehicle has come with a tire wider than the new Rumble Bee SRT.

The Hellcat-powered street truck also comes with specially tuned active-level four-corner air suspension system with active damping and an electronic spool performance locking differential. If you want to do monster burnouts, there is even a rear-wheel-drive mode button.

Perhaps the most unique aspect of the 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee SRT is that it is built on an exclusive chassis with an exclusive cab-and-bed combination. The Rumble Bee comes standard with the quad cab and the short bed, a configuration not offered on any other Ram 1500.

That required the engineering team to create a new chassis that is 13 inches shorter, and when coupled with the flared fenders and bedsides, the Rumble Bee has a stance unlike any truck on the market today – short and wide, with aggressive aero and massive tires.

The 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee SRT will most certainly set the standard by which all other high performance pickups are judged, but get this – there isn’t just one Rumble Bee. There are actually four and the SRT model with the Hellcat Hemi is the top of the line.

The “base” 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee is powered by the 5.7-liter Hemi, packing 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. This package also includes the 8HP75 8-speed automatic transmission, the Borg Warner 48-11 transfer case, a 250mm rear axle fitted with 3.92 gears, 22×10-inch wheels wrapped in 285/45R22 rubber, an independent front suspension system with a solid rear axle and 14.9 front brake rotors under two-piston calipers. The “base” Rumble Bee will sprint to 60 in 6.1 seconds and runs the quarter mile in 14.6 seconds at 93 miles per hour.

The 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee 392 uses the same engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, wheels and tires as the base truck, but as the name suggests, the 5.7-liter Hemi is replaced by the 392 cubic inch SRT Hemi. This engine delivers 470 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque.

There is also the 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee 392 Track Pack, which comes with the suspension, brakes, differential, wheels and tires from the SRT model with 392 power. Both of the 392 trucks will run the quarter mile at 13.2 quarter mile at 101 miles per hour.

Aside from the engines and mechanical bits, the different Rumble Bee models have different interior layouts. The base model has cloth seats and an 8.4-inch Uconnect screen while the 392 has cloth seats and the 12-inch UConnect screen, the 392 Track Pack adds leather and the SRT models come with premium leather and suede throughout the cabin and the 14-inch center screen.

In short, the SRT model comes with all of the luxury that you would expect, while the Rumble Bee and Rumble Bee 392 models focus more on performance and value – with optional comfort, of course.

We do not have pricing for any of the 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee models, but we know that the 5.7-liter-powered trucks will arrive first, later this year, with the 392 and Hellcat models hitting dealerships in early 2027.
