For those “old hats” in the world of engine building, you’ll recognize Mike from his long history in in classic American Muscle Cars and high-power V8 engine builds, be it during his tenure at Weiand, or his time as a contributor and full-time staffer for Hot Rod, Super Chevy, Chevy High Performance, Popular Hot Rodding, Chevy Rumble, Street Rodder, Rod & Custom, Classic Trucks, and Engine Masters; as well as serving as Horsepower TV’s Technical Producer and Dyno Operator in 2006.

Today, as owner and operator of Hardcore Horsepower and Dyno Testing, Mike specializes in applying over 25 years of experience in the automotive aftermarket industry to make tons of streetable horsepower! Not only does Hardcore Horsepower build, test, tune, and modify high performance American V8 engines and vehicles in-house, but also sell the same high-performance complete engines and parts online too. Located in Franklin, Tennessee about 20-minutes south of Directly Connected’s Nashville headquarters, you can be guaranteed a lot of future articles with the Hardcore Horsepower crew.

Recently, Mike and the Hardcore team added a Dynocom chassis dyno as the last major part of their 2015 expansion and is “a key piece of equipment we’ve been needing to acquire for some time. We’ll now be able to test and tune vehicles in-house, dialing in the best combination without risking long test-drives on the open road. It will ensure that we’re able to provide the absolute best possible engines and tunes for all our customers.”
