A little over a year ago, we were invited to spend a couple of days with Ken Lazzeri of INDY Cylinder Heads as he assembled a wild all-aluminum 572 Hemi (see video below). Since then, that video has racked up several thousand views and INDY’s phone hasn’t stopped ringing. That particular build yielded an incredible 865-horsepower on the dyno but INDY knows that kind of power is not for everybody.
In a recent Facebook post, INDY shared the results of a similar all-aluminum “square” 572 Hemi build that runs slightly more mildly on 93 octane producing 773-horsepower at 6,400rpm and 690 ft. lbs. of torque at 4,000rpm with a street-friendly COMP Cams roller .625/.610, .254/.260 @ 110º duration. Oh yeah, and it comes in with a featherweight total of 476-pounds! That’s less than most LS-swaps!
It’s these kind of high-tier builds that certainly cement INDY’s name as being synonymous with hellacious Hemi power, but they’ll happily build you a gnarly wedge motor if you ask nicely.
