The roar of open headers on an unhindered big-block is one of the sweetest sounds to ever grace the drag strip airwaves. At the same time, a growling pair of mufflers can leave the guy in the next lane wondering how much more bite is behind the subdued bark. Both influence the personality of a muscle car, but few have time to shimmy underneath a raked midsection to uncork a set of leak-prone collector flanges for an aggressive rumble around the block.

Patriot Exhaust Products makes muffler mitigation easy with their new stainless steel electronic exhaust cutouts. Years of frustrated customers using other manufacturers’ unreliable systems led Patriot to design a superior cutout that’s simple to install and simple to use. With a bolt-in construction that requires no welding, these cutouts are compact for maximum versatility. Adding to that flexibility are rotating turn-outs that can be aimed, then locked down for precise exhaust direction.

Operationally, they couldn’t get much easier. A wireless remote that can hang from a keyring eliminates the need for any kind of toggle switch wiring. Instead, there’s a simple transmitter box that includes pigtails for power, ground, and signal output. A butterfly valve that seals against a machined recess in the body should make for a reliable and quiet seal when closed.
