Police in St. Peters, Missouri have arrested four teenagers aged 16, 17 and 19 after they stole three brand new Dodge Chargers and Challengers from Napleton Mid Rivers Dodge, according to a report in SRT Life. In the early morning hours on Friday, November 4th, the trio from Kansas City stole a Challenger Hellcat and two Chargers, one being a Hellcat and the other a SRT 392.
A dealership employee happened to be driving by, saw car lights in the lot, and called police. The teens didn’t even make it a mile down the road before crashing them according to police. Being as they weren’t from the area, police believe they did not know the roads and the powerful engines proved to be too much for the young drivers leading to the mess of sheet metal and plastic all over the road.
“They lost control of them fairly easily. They made it less than a mile,” St. Peters Police Officer Melissa Doss said. Police caught all three after a short foot chase.
Two of the three stolen vehicles were also recovered; two of them are believed to be totaled leading to damages being over $150,000. Frank Schaffer, general manager of the dealership said he’ll have a tough time ordering replacements. “It’s going to take several months to replace before Chrysler will give me allocation to replace them, so this one left is kind of special,” he said while standing next to a black Challenger Hellcat in the showroom.
