USCT Motorsports (y’know, the guys at US Car Tool) finally did what everybody’s been asking for – offer a brand new ’68 or ’69 Dodge Charger body using pretty much the entire catalog of new sheetmetal offered through Auto Metal Direct. “So why doesn’t AMD just offer it themselves?” you might be asking. And that’s a fair question. Suffice it to say that licensing such a “kit car” involves a whole lot of lawyers and exorbitant legal fees.
Rather, USCT is doing the Lord’s work by offering a completely assembled ’68/’69 Dodge Charger unibody as a “body in white” made from all new parts reproduced by industry-leader Auto Metal Direct. And yes, each “body in white” is jig assembled by US Car Tool in their headquarters in Graham, North Carolina. Each body is properly assembled, body gapped and build to any configuration, whether you want it riding on a custom chassis or factory floor pans.

Per USCT, you can elect to have your “body in white” assembled with USCT’s Chassis Stiffening Kits (Stage 2 and Stage 3); fully body gapped to 3/16″ gaps; your choice of aftermarket suspension kits (QA1, RMS, Speedtech Performance, etc.); or a complete paint-and-body build. USCT will make your “body in white” as bare or built-to-the-rafters as you wish. But don’t be fooled; you’re paying for a brand new, professionally assembled 2nd Charger body with a starting price of $43,993.69.
Now consider what you’re saving; you’re not hunting down a semi-decent roller that needs to be disassembled; media blasted or dipped; stripped down and have over year’s worth of metal and body work done before it’s remotely close to being painted. (Saving you all of that time and headache alone is worth the price of admission in our book.) And best of all, you’re working with two of the biggest names in Mopar metal: Auto Metal Direct and USCT Motorsports; not some no-name shop or local body guy.
