Anderson Dick, FuelTech founder, and his 1972 Plymouth ‘Cuda landed in Brazil last month and it’s safe to say that this fish is in uncharted waters. Back at FuelTech’s fresh headquarters, Anderson unveiled some big changes coming to the blown E-body later this year.
It’s no slouch as-is with a 340 under a hood that’s been splayed open to let that big 8-71 supercharger breathe. Backing it is a Tremec TKX five-speed manual from Silver Sport Transmissions. Other existing mods include a coil-over front suspension and a set of modern oversize Rallye wheels.
Many of you might remember when Mopar Connection Magazine drove down to FuelTech’s Georgia headquarters to interview and Anderson and take his ‘Cuda out for a spin. If not, here’s a link to the video we did on that and a quick shop tour – check it out!
Anderson actually picked it up as a stalled project then added the blower and TKX himself. Prior to that, it was already a snarling small block that put down 332 horses to the rear wheels. After FuelTech’s handiwork, it laid down an impressive 579 ponies.
But it’s not done yet. In fact, the whole reason Anderson drug it to Brazil was to take it to the next level with a total revamp by Toyoboni Custom. They’ll basically be conducting a restoration that will include straightening the body, upgrading the underpinnings, and bolstering the drivetrain.
For now, the ‘Cuda will be making the rounds in South America, but Anderson already supplied Toyoboni with a Classic Industries catalog. It looks like they’re going to need it to give these fish scales a proper shine again.
