When it comes to your engine bay, usually the first thing that you see is the air cleaner assembly. Sitting right on top of the engine, the air cleaner can make or break the look of the entire engine bay. A small detail that quite a few people tend to forget about is the air filter. A lot of us spend a fair chunk of money restoring our air cleaners to factory specification; however, some are quick to toss the most readily available air filter in.
While you may be able to get away with this with most four barrel style air cleaners where the filter is hidden, Mopars equipped with the oval style Hemi, Ramcharger or Six Pack air cleaners won’t. On these cars, the air filter is exposed and many can see if you skimp out on your air filter.
For the longest time, the only OEM style oval air filters available were either NOS (New Old Stock) or the now-discontinued Fram filters. As of lately, a handful of companies are trying their hand at releasing correct style filters; the latest being our good friends at YearOne.
YearOne takes pride in selling the highest quality and closest to correct parts on the market and these filters are no exception.
These filters feature an original style perforated steel band, along with orange or black colored rubber sides depending on your application or personal preference. These filters are correct for the following Mopar vehicles and come as single filters or in a pack of five:
