SST Partners With Big Easy Motors Show on History Channel

Big Easy 1

Classic hot rods and muscle cars are big money, and not just on the auction block. Cable television programmers have taken a big liking to hot rodding/customization shows since the first episodes of “Monster Garage” and “Overhaulin’.” Since those days (can you believe it’s been nearly 15 years?), the airwaves are rife with plenty of horsepower-focused programming. Some you may like, some you might loathe, but there’s no doubt that muscle cars and TV do mix.

The latest show to spring up is “Big Easy Motors” that debuted on the History Channel last week. The show focuses on Charles Handler, the owner of The Bomb Factory in New Orleans, LA. and his team of restorers and fabricators. Handler is an authorized installer for SST (Silver Sport Transmissions) and will be installing some of of their products in Mopar vehicles on the show.

Mopar Connection talked to Handler briefly who said, “I love to talk Mopars all day long. My shop truck – a ’78 Plymouth Warlock – is in every episode. On our first season, we have the following Mopars coming: a ’72 Dodge Demon (which already aired); a ’74 Charger; a ’70 Cuda (this episode centers around the Wellborn Museum); a ’68 Fury (it’s my car [that] we resto-modded with one of SST’s Tremecs and a 6.1 Hemi); and a custom ’62 300.”

Already the show is getting great word-of-mouth and we look forward to seeing more episodes of “Big Easy Motors” as well as future builds including Silver Sport Transmission 5- and 6-speed kits.
